16th Dubai International Food Safety Conference from 1 to 3 November

Dubai, UAE, October 20, 2022: DubaiMunicipality is all set to launch the 16th Dubai International Food Safety Conference (DIFSC), under the theme, ‘Future directions in food safety and security’, which will be held from November 01 to 03, 2022, at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The DIFSC is expected to be participated by 60 speakers, including specialists, academics, scientific research entities, and international organizations from the global food sector, in the presence of over 3,000 experts. Through this event, the Municipality aims at reinforcing Dubai’s position as one of the global leaders in food safety, security, and implementing the latest technological innovations in this regard.

This year’s edition focusses on addressing future trends that aim at maintaining high food safety standards, in line with regional and international food security strategies. Discussions will be held on the latest advancements in local, regional, and global developments in food safety policies and legislations, which are dedicated to realizing food safety and sustainability.

Furthermore, the DIFSC aims at recognizing upcoming directions to ensure achievement of food safety within supply chains, as well as the adoption of innovative solutions to ensure efficient risk-analysis of food safety systems. It will also highlight the importance of deploying modern technology, such as AI, Big Data, and the Metaverse for innovating sustainable solutions and developing global food systems.

Interactive seminars and panels

The conference will include seminars and interactive panel discussions that will highlight the latest technologies and their role in data-based decision making, as well as spread awareness of Metaverse and its applications in the food sector. It will facilitate exchange of expertise on the food industry and food safety culture, while highlighting the best practices in implementing food policies.

Further discussions will be held on addressing safety and sustainability of food contact materials (FCMs), the development of flexible food-safety management systems, and the future trends of food systems around the globe.

During the conference, concepts of unified health, which includes an integrated and unified approach with the aim of achieving sustainable balance and promoting the health of people, animals, and their surrounding ecologies will also be discussed.

The DIFSC will also address monitoring the risk of chemical contaminants in food, ceilings for pesticide residues, and showcase best practices to ensure food flow across the world through regional and global collaboration.

Dubai Municipality has been organizing the DIFSC since 2006, which is served as an ideal platform for multinational experts and specialists to showcase the best international practices in food safety.
