Richemont initiative preps Emiratis for luxury sector role
Richemont Group has announced the graduation of the first cohort from its Mustaqbalkom Trainee Programme in the United Arab Emirates.
This unique initiative, meaning ‘your future’ in Arabic, is a stepping stone for Emirati bachelor’s and master’s graduates to explore diverse career options within the prestigious luxury goods group.
A ceremony was hosted to commemorate the achievements of the seven Emirati graduates, most of whom have secured full-time employment within the Group.
This success serves as a testament to the Mustaqbalkom programme’s effectiveness in developing the next generation of leaders in the luxury industry.
Pierre Fayard, CEO of Richemont MEIA, expressed delight at the progress and professional growth of the Mustaqbalkom trainees.
Corporate world
He highlighted the exceptional qualities of the first cohort, emphasising their passion, drive, and seamless integration into the corporate world.
Fayard underlined the importance of embracing diversity and fostering collaboration, committing to continuing the company’s duty to empower and educate Emirati youth for success in the luxury environment of the future.
Launched in May 2022, the Richemont Mustaqbalkom Trainee Programme offers Emirati graduates a tailored curriculum to accelerate their careers in the luxury industry.
The rigorous recruitment process involves interviews, screening tests, and interactive assessment days, ensuring the selection of the most promising candidates.
The programme unfolds as a unique learning experience, comprising three distinct eight-month rotations covering various corporate functions such as Finance, HR, Marketing, Supply Chain, Retail, and Business Development.
Hands-on training
Graduates actively engage in challenging training projects and collaborate with experienced colleagues from Richemont brands and functions. This comprehensive exposure allows them to explore a range of roles, teams, and responsibilities within each exclusive rotation.
Upon completing the two-year programme, all trainees receive a programme diploma, and the most deserving ones are allowed to join the Richemont Group full-time.
Negin Khater, Talent Management Director of Richemont MEIA, stressed Richemont’s commitment to Emiratisation and the remarkable growth of local talents.
Expressing enthusiasm for the exceptional young talents thriving in the programme, Khater highlighted their lasting impact on the organisation.
The Mustaqbalkom Trainee Programme is set to continue investing in Emirati graduates, providing opportunities for learning, potential development, and accelerated career progression.
The second cohort comprises seven graduates and is expected to graduate in September 2024.
