Acronis appoints Gerald Beuchelt as CISO

To lead global security strategy and more

Acronis has appointed Gerald Beuchelt as its new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). With over a decade of experience in cybersecurity, Beuchelt will play a key role in shaping Acronis’ security strategy as the company strives to safeguard data, applications, and systems worldwide.

Beuchelt will execute Acronis’ global information security strategy in his new position and protect the company’s information, technologies, and systems.

His efforts will be pivotal in driving the company’s goal to enhance cyber protection across various industries. As part of the executive leadership team, Beuchelt will also manage a global team of IT, security, and compliance professionals and will be responsible for critical functions such as corporate IT infrastructure, help desk operations, and server and network management.

Furthermore, Beuchelt will support Acronis’ expansion within the cybersecurity community. He will collaborate with the Acronis Threat Research Unit (TRU) to conduct new research, generate reports, and develop threat intelligence. His contributions will help Acronis stay ahead of the rapidly evolving cyber threats facing businesses and organisations globally.

Beuchelt expressed his excitement about joining Acronis, highlighting its diverse product range, international reach, and strategic vision.

He further highlighted the importance of Acronis TRU, stating that the unit’s research-driven guidance will help the company protect against modern cybersecurity threats while increasing awareness of how its solutions can empower businesses. Beuchelt is eager to collaborate with the talented team at Acronis and expand the company’s influence in the cybersecurity community.

Before joining Acronis, Beuchelt held prominent roles in cybersecurity leadership. He most recently served as the Chief Information Security Officer at Sprinklr, where he significantly managed the company’s security strategies.

Beuchelt also held roles at LogMeIn, Demandware (acquired by Salesforce), and The MITRE Corporation. His wealth of experience extends to his involvement as Treasurer and Director on the Boston Chapter of Infragard board, the FBI’s public-private partnership programme, and the National Cyber Security Alliance.
