Abu Dhabi, October 27, 2022: Al Masaood Automobiles – the authorised distributor for Nissan, INFINITI, and Renault in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Western Region – has successfully renewed three ISO certifications, reinforcing the division’s focus on maintaining the highest performance standards in its operations, including promoting a healthy and safe working culture and enhancing environmental performance.
These certifications, which included ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015, were renewed by Bureau Veritas, a globally recognised company which facilitates testing, inspection, and certification in various sectors. The division was recertified after fulfilling all stipulated criteria. ISO 9001:2015 is the global standard focusing on Quality Management System (QMS) whilst ISO 45001:2018 pertains to requirements designed to improve occupational health and safety (OHS) – eliminate hazards and minimise OHS-related risks. Furthermore, ISO 14001:2015 lays out the requirements for a company’s Environmental Management System (EMS) to improve its environmental performance.
Al Masaood Automobiles was the first automotive company in Abu Dhabi to receive the ISO 45001:2018 certification back in 2020 and is also recognised as a role model in promoting culture of excellence by the application of internal standards – including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
Irfan Tansel, Chief Executive Officer of Al Masaood Automobiles, said: “At Al Masaood Automobiles, we strive to provide world-class and sustainable services and products while advancing the interests of our partners, customers, employees, and other stakeholders through high standards of internal operations. The renewal of our ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001:2015 certifications show our commitment to excellence as well as highlights our continuous efforts to enhance our performance across operations. We are proud to have achieved these ISO certifications, and we are equally delighted by successfully renewing it. This milestone strengthens our position as one of the leading automotive companies in Abu Dhabi.”
Al Masaood Automobiles has constantly demonstrated its commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) policies through robust strategies and stringent standards in its operations. The company strives to promote a safe community and ensures a protected and healthy working environment by taking measures to prevent work-related injuries or hazardous incidents. As part of its QHSE CSR initiatives, Al Masaood Automobiles is continuously making efforts to reduce its carbon footprint by using indicator to assess the environmental impact, through monitoring the waste generated and its disposal.
Tansel added: “Our commitment is to maintain a safe and healthy working environment which has been beneficial for our employees, partners, and other stakeholders. We are also committed to protecting the environment by fostering sustainable and environment friendly practices in our operations. Being recertified by the globally acclaimed Bureau Veritas highlights that we are moving in the right direction in our ongoing commitment to be a responsible corporate citizen in our community.”
The ISO 45001:2018 certification serves as a guide on the efficient usage of the company’s occupational health & safety system (OHS) to ensure a secure and healthy working environment that safeguards employees from hazardous working conditions and prevents injury and sickness. The certification requires positive outcomes yielded by the system such as continual improvement of occupational health and safety performance, fulfilment of legal requirements and other operational requirements to achieve occupational health and safety objectives.
The ISO 9001:2015 aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the efficient use of the system, which includes procedures for system improvement, and the guarantee of adherence to customers and applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Meanwhile, ISO 14001:2015 aims to preserve and enhance the efficient use of resources, contributing to a better quality of life for all. The requirements provide a framework and guidelines for creating a company’s environmental management system so that it doesn’t miss important elements needed to enhance its environmental performance.
