Dubai RTA signs pact to transform Dubai’s commercial transport sector

Incorporating a new digital platform

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partnered with Trukker Technologies, a Dubai-based logistics and transportation company, to launch a digital platform to boost the efficiency and accessibility of commercial transport options in Dubai emirate.

The digital platform will be a centralised hub connecting transportation companies directly with Dubai RTA-registered service providers. The system promises to streamline the booking process for various commercial transport services, including furniture movers, goods transporters, and cargo trucks.

The new initiative is part of Dubai RTA’s broader strategy to foster public-private partnerships and enhance the emirate’s overall transportation infrastructure.

Central to the platform’s design is its ability to offer users an interactive database of service providers, ensuring transparency and reliability in every transaction. This approach supports Dubai’s digital transformation agenda and enhances the efficiency and sustainability of intra-city transport services.

Significant milestone

The agreement, signed by Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Dubai RTA’s licensing agency, and Gaurav Biswas, Founder and CEO of Trukker Technologies, marks a significant milestone in Dubai’s transportation sector and underscores a commitment to leveraging technology to benefit businesses and individuals.

Al Ali said: “This initiative aligns with global best practices and reflects our dedication to developing a robust network that offers sustainable and smart commercial transport solutions. By integrating sophisticated yet user-friendly digital services, we aim to cater to the diverse needs of our community.”

Biswas added, “The platform will revolutionise how commercial transport services are accessed and utilised in Dubai. We aim to provide a seamless experience for transportation customers and operators through automation and real-time information dissemination.

“This partnership underscores our commitment to delivering advanced solutions that prioritise user convenience and uphold Environmental, Social, and Governance principles.”

As Dubai seeks to position itself as a global hub for innovation and sustainable development, initiatives like the RTA-Trukker partnership underscore the Arabian Gulf emirate’s commitment to leveraging technology to benefit its residents and businesses.

With plans to expand the platform’s reach beyond Dubai, both entities are poised to set new benchmarks in the Middle East’s transport industry. They promise a future where transportation solutions are efficient and environmentally responsible.
