Emirates Business Class flyers can now preorder inflight meals on European routes
Emirates has extended its Business Class inflight meal preordering programme across routes to and from European cities, including Warsaw, Venice, Rome, Bologna, Prague, Vienna, Moscow, Istanbul, Dublin, Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Brussels and Madrid, as well as to and from Seychelles and Mauritius.
The Dubai-headquartered supercarrier had initially launched the inflight meal preordering initiative on UK routes and decided to extend the service to its other European sectors following positive passenger feedback.
Future rollout
The airline will roll out the service across additional global routes in the coming months.
The new service allows the airline’s Business Class passengers to preselect their main course meal between 14 days and 24 hours before their flight departure.
This step ensures the passengers receive their preferred meal choice on their flight as well as helping the airline to reduce food wastage.
As part of the new service on the above-mentioned European sector routes, Emirates Business Class passengers can browse the onboard menu on the airline’s website or the Emirates app to choose from a selection of regionally inspired dishes with locally sourced ingredients.
The airline’s Business Class meals include chef-crafted dishes such as chocolate hazelnut pancakes with apricot compote and ricotta sour cream for breakfast, beef tenderloin with thyme jus, roasted potato wedges and steamed vegetables for lunch, and pan-fried salmon trout with saffron cream, blanched green beans, braised beetroot and polenta with spring onions for dinner.
Digital interface
Emirates cabin crew will use digital devices to view the preordered selection and serve the passengers their choice of dish.
Meal preordering adds to the existing suite of AI-enabled customer preference tracking data and cabin crew reports onboard Emirates fights, facilitating menu planning, optimal food loading and waste minimisation.
Digitally enabled journeys and innovation are a core focus at Emirates
The preordering meal service is complemented by website check-in and app check-in, the option to digital boarding passes and itinerary management, access to digital inflight menus, easy sign-up to the airline’s Skywards rewards programme to access free Wi-Fi messaging onboard, and inflight entertainment playlist curation in advance of a flight.
