The expedition of the 21st cycle of the Clean UAE campaign began sailing on December 5th from the Emirate of Ajman, and reached the Emirate of Fujairah on 7th December. The 2nd station of the campaign was conducted under the patronage of the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment with the Ministry of Community Development coming on board the campaign this year. Fujairah Natural Resources Corporation is the campaign partner in the Emirate of Fujairah who joined EEEG in the area behind the Friday Market – in Masafi.
Equipped with cotton gloves and bio-degradable garbage bags and wearing specially designed cotton T-shirts and Caps, 300 volunteers collected 500 kg of waste and covered and area of 2 km2. EEG team segregated the recyclable materials such as plastic, glass and aluminium from the total amount and sent them to local factories for recycling. A 2nd site was specially opened for the students of Our Own High School Al Warqa’a, where 1,200 students collected 1,570 kg of waste from a stretch of 3.5km2, thus bringing the total amount of waste collected on the 2nd leg to 2,070 kg.

We shall continue to strive to ensure a sustainable and green environment for future generations”
