Pulvermueller confirms he is focussing on personal pursuits
Ezequiel Steiner, the Business President and Chief Corporate Development Officer of Acronis has been appointed the acting CEO of the global leader in cyber protection following the departure of Patrick Pulvermueller as CEO of the 20-year-old Schaffhausen, Switzerland-headquartered company.
Pulvermueller was CEO of Acronis for the past two years and four months (July 2021 to October 2023). He continues as a board advisor and advisor to Ezequiel Steiner, acting CEO of Acronis.

‘Ezequiel has almost 20 years of history with Acronis, supporting the company in different roles at different stages of its development. He helped to set up and establish Acronis 20 years ago.
‘He was back to drive corporate development and recently led all business functions at Acronis, including sales, marketing, business development and customer success. In between his time with Acronis, Ezequiel led two extremely successful software companies – Acumatica and Parallels.
‘Under Ezequiel’s leadership, Acronis will continue to provide the most reliable and efficient cyber protection and tools for service providers and corporate IT customers,’ the statement added.
‘Decade-long experience’
In his newly updated LinkedIn ‘About’ profile, Pulvermueller stated: ‘After a successful stint at Acronis as CEO, I am now focusing on my decade-long experience as a board member of multiple private equity boards.
‘In my past role as the CEO of Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection, I was responsible for driving the company’s vision, strategy, and hyper-growth. I joined Acronis in July 2021, bringing over 20 years of experience in the cloud computing and hosting industry, as well as a proven track record of building and scaling successful businesses.
‘Previously, I was the President of the Partner Business at GoDaddy [4 years, 4 month], where I led the expansion of its hosting, productivity, and security services through resellers and agency partners. I also served as the Group CEO of Host Europe Group, which was acquired by GoDaddy for $1.8 billion in 2016.
‘I am passionate about empowering entrepreneurs and small businesses with innovative and affordable solutions that solve their digital challenges. I hold an MBA from The Open University and a Microsoft Certified Engineer certification. I am also a board member and an investor in several technology companies and private equity funds.
Current work experience
Pulvermueller’s current work experience on his LinkedIn page shows him as the board chairperson at Luxembourg-based WebPros.
WebPros, the largest global web hosting software and automation company, manages 900,000+ servers, 85 million domains, and 33 million users. The company unites top providers in web hosting, billing automation, infrastructure, server management, and online marketing software to create the #1 web enablement ecosystem.
Pulvermueller also remains a board advisor of group.one. group.one is a leading European provider of online presence, cloud hosting, and digital marketing services based in the metropolitan area of Malmö in Sweden.
He also continued as the co-founder of Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany-based Redsalt Foundation, the non-profit that creates employment opportunities in the Global South and assists local nonprofit organisations in securing funding partners.
