Ferrari unveils 6 unique 296 GTBs in Abu Dhabi
In tribute to 6 Arabian Gulf states
Ferrari commemorated its 30th anniversary in the Arabian Gulf by unveiling six specially designed Ferrari 296 GTBs, each a tribute to the Gulf nations comprising the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
The unveiling occurred during an exclusive Casa Ferrari event in Abu Dhabi, which coincided with the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend (December 6-8, 2024).
Each limited-edition model features a custom colour and trim configuration, thoughtfully crafted by Ferrari’s Special Equipment team in collaboration with the Ferrari Personalisation and Colour & Trim departments.
Giorgio Turri, General Manager of Ferrari Middle East, expressed the company’s pride in its deep ties to the Arabian Gulf states: “These extraordinary, one-of-a-kind 296 GTBs pay homage to the Gulf nations. Our relationship with this region is a source of great pride, and every detail of these cars reflects the unique spirit of the six countries we honour today.”
The six cars showcase a spectacular palette of colours, each inspired by the distinct characteristics of the six Gulf nations.
A pearlescent white body for the UAE symbolises the country’s rich pearl-diving heritage. Saudi Arabia’s vibrant green recalls that nation’s lush oases, while Kuwait’s metallic brown honours the nation’s natural landscapes.
A deep red for Qatar signifies strength and pride, and Bahrain’s black with gold flecks capture the charisma of its starlit evenings. Finally, Oman’s metallic blue evokes the tranquil beauty of its seas and coastline.
Arabian Golden Sheen
A standout feature of the bespoke models is the introduction of Arabian Golden Sheen, a matte finish designed specifically for the collection. This new colour represents the shimmering reflection of desert sunlight, extending to the car’s roof, rims, and spoiler. The names of each country are elegantly written in Arabic calligraphy on the engine covers, further highlighting the personalised connection to each nation.
Inside, the vehicles are finished with luxurious materials inspired by the Middle East. Beige Honolulu leather and Gold Metallic leather adorn the seats and lower door panels, showcasing a diamond-stitched pattern that blends sportiness with sophistication.
The front luggage compartment is upholstered in leather for the first time, adding an extra touch of refinement. The Prancing Horse logo on the headrests is embroidered with special glossy gold thread, and the satin gold plating on the gearshift gate adds an extra layer of luxury.
The six cars also inspired the creation of equally exclusive Maranello clutches. These high-fashion accessories, crafted in Ferrari’s Maranello factory, echo the sleek silhouette of the 296 GTB.
Finished in matching metallic hues such as Brown Sand, Blue Waters, and Night Sky, the clutches embody the same attention to detail and artisanry in Ferrari’s automotive design. Each clutch comes with a removable strap for versatile wear and is adorned with a plaque engraved with the Ferrari logo.
As Ferrari looks to the future, Turri noted: “The Middle East is a region of growth and ambition, with shared values of innovation, excellence, and technological advancement. We are excited to continue our journey here, looking ahead to the next 30 years with optimism and pride.”
The Casa Ferrari event, held annually during the Abu Dhabi F1 GP, is a prestigious gathering point for Ferrari enthusiasts in the Middle East. Designed as a temporary luxury villa, the event offers a hospitality experience that mirrors the company’s commitment to exclusivity and elegance.
