Hytera to unveil transformative 4G and 5G body cameras for regional law enforcement

Devices to debut at GITEX GLOBAL 2024

Hytera Communications will unveil its all-new SC780 Smart 4G and SC880 Smart 5G body cameras at GITEX Global 2024. The advanced devices are designed to assist law enforcement and emergency services in capturing, storing, and managing digital evidence.

GITEX Global 2024 will be held at Dubai World Trade Centre from October 14 to 18.

Hytera’s two new body cameras will allow law enforcement agencies to operate optimally and efficiently and be accountable. The solutions are designed to leverage the rapid deployment of 4G and 5G networks across the Arabian Gulf region.

The SC880 model uses 5G technology to capture 4K ultra-high-definition footage and features an extended pre/post-recording function lasting up to 300 seconds. It can also record 15 hours of uninterrupted recording on a single charge. It also captures crystal-clear audio within a 10-meter range, ensuring the integrity of evidence collected in the field.

With cutting-edge AI capabilities, real-time communication functions, and robust 4G and 5G connectivity, these body cameras deliver unprecedented clarity, reliability, and situational awareness for on-the-ground teams.

Peak performance

Hytera’s new body cameras are designed to collect high-quality evidence and ensure peak performance across various environments. With advanced image stabilisation technology, these devices deliver steady video during high-motion activities, while night vision capabilities ensure clear footage in low-light conditions. The wide-angle lens expands the field of view, enhancing coverage during law enforcement operations.

Beyond their recording capabilities, the SC780 Smart 4G and SC880 Smart 5G body cameras feature real-time communication functionalities. Serving as Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) radios, they provide constant connectivity during critical situations.

Equipped with AI-powered noise cancellation, long battery life, and an IP68 rating—making them dustproof and waterproof—these cameras are ideal for the harsh conditions typical of the region. Facial and license plate recognition features enable quick and accurate data transmission to command centres, facilitating swift suspect identification.

Stanley Song, Vice President of Hytera, noted: “Our next-generation body cameras, powered by AI and 5G, showcase our commitment to innovation and reliability. We are proud to contribute to the UAE’s and Saudi Arabia’s initiatives to leverage smart technologies for law enforcement and public safety.”

Hytera’s Digital Evidence Management (DEM) system reinforces the protection and efficiency of digital evidence, aligning with the Arabian Gulf region’s stringent data security regulations.

The DEM system ensures a secure, closed chain of evidence from capture to courtroom presentation, enhancing operational efficiency through features like redaction and remote device management. This makes it an essential tool for law enforcement and public safety agencies requiring the highest data integrity standards throughout the evidence lifecycle. Top of FormBottom of Form
