Montfort Maritime, the shipping division of Montfort, acquired its first vessel, the ‘Vialli’, in collaboration with its partners. The ‘Vialli’ is a modern 2012 IMO Type 3 Medium-Range (MR) tanker built by GSI in 2012. The tanker was formally handed over in the first week of August. Initially, the vessel will operate on time charter with a multinational commodity trading and logistics company. In the course of time, the tanker will be used for trading across international freight markets.

Martin Marcus Hansen, head of Montfort Maritime said: “We are excited to have completed the acquisition of our first tanker with our partners. We are also actively looking at acquiring further tankers and other vessels to support the growth of the Group’s commodity trading activities. As the Maritime shipping division of Montfort, we operate as a service provider securing competitive and reliable freight for our in-house oil, gas, and dry bulk traders, as well as chartering out to our external clients. At Montfort, a global trader of energy and commodities, shipping is at our core.”
