Nissan launches new 2025 Magnite SUV in India
Plans to export 100,000 units globally
Nissan has officially unveiled the all-new 2025 Magnite compact SUV in India, marking a significant step in its strategy to enhance its regional manufacturing footprint. This latest model blends bold styling, innovative technologies, and reinforced safety features to capture a broad audience in the competitive SUV market in India.
The introduction of the Magnite aligns with Nissan’s mid-term business plan, known as the Arc, which positions India as a central manufacturing hub.
The company plans to export 100,000 units to over 65 markets by 2026, potentially making the Magnite the most widely exported vehicle from Nissan’s Africa, Middle East, India, and Oceania (AMIEO) region.
The new Magnite is not just another SUV. It boasts a striking exterior with LED lighting, alloy wheels, and roof rails, giving it a contemporary look that appeals to urban drivers. But what truly sets it apart is its innovative features.
It features a configurable TFT driver display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity, and a wireless smartphone charger. Adjustable ambient lighting enhances onboard comfort, making the driving experience functional and enjoyable.
Innovative features
Additionally, the SUV includes innovative features like a remote engine start, a walk-away lock, and an air ioniser, catering to health-conscious customers. Safety is prioritised with six airbags in all variants and a reinforced bodyshell, ensuring a secure ride for all occupants.
The Magnite’s turbocharged 1.0-litre engine strikes an ideal balance between fuel economy and performance. This efficient powertrain is available with a manual or continuously variable transmission, catering to different driving preferences.
Thanks to its spacious wheelbase, the Magnite is a suitable option for urban mobility, comfortably accommodating up to five passengers.
To assist in navigating tight city spaces, the Magnite is equipped with an Around View Monitor that provides a bird’ s-eye view from four cameras, making parking hassle-free.
Launched in December 2020, the Magnite has already made its mark in India, with cumulative sales surpassing 150,000 units. This success is a testament to the vehicle’s performance and popularity.
Currently, Nissan has exported the vehicle to 20 right-hand drive markets. With the introduction of the new model, the company plans to expand exports to left-hand drive markets, reaching over 45 additional countries by 2025.
With these developments, India is poised to join the UK as a key export hub for Nissan, further strengthening the company’s position in the global automotive market.
