On Wednesday 5 May, The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and Land Rover will debut a first of its kind four-part series, On the ground: Humanitarians in Action.
In the year when more people than ever have volunteered and worked on community programmes, the IFRC and Land Rover equipped volunteers with GoPro cameras to record what it is really like to work on the front line.
To launch this amazing series, a special screening will be aired on Facebook Live including exclusive content from the series as well as a behind the scenes panel discussion on how local people have stepped up to the pandemic and what this means for the way we respond to future crises. This will be followed by the premiere of the first episode.
Each episode follows a different team across the globe:
- From the streets of Italy, where the homeless are more vulnerable than ever (5th May)
- To the remote communities in Mexico learning life-saving skills (19th May)
- Across the UK with those people hardest hit by Covid-19 (2nd June)
- Ending with the communities in Australia still rebuilding their lives after 2020’s devastating bush-fires (16th June)
