OTT business messaging revenue to hit $3.7bn in 2025
Infobip, Gupshup, Twilio dominate
A new study has revealed that global Over-the-Top (OTT) business messaging revenue is set to surge, growing from $2.4 billion in 2024 to $3.7 billion in 2025. Despite this promising expansion, the market is expected to face significant disruption from emerging technologies that will enhance user experiences. Notably, click-to-chat ads are a key feature driving enterprises to adopt OTT messaging platforms.
Juniper Research’s comprehensive study also identified 20 leading OTT business messaging vendors best positioned to capitalise on this revenue growth, ranking them based on their solution offerings, innovation, and market presence.
The top three vendors are Infobip, Gupshup, and Twilio, followed by Sinch and Cisco Webex. These companies were ranked on Juniper Research’s Competitor Leaderboard, which evaluates vendors’ market strength and ability to meet growing demand.
Infobip maintains its leadership position primarily due to its advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities. The study found that the company’s AI-powered tools, such as chatbots, are vital for enterprises across various industries, including banking and retail.
These capabilities allow businesses to automate key customer service and sales functions, further solidifying Infobip’s dominance in the OTT business messaging sector.
Tata Communications has advanced 11 places on the leaderboard in a notable move and is now ranked as an established leader. This leap was primarily attributed to the company’s acquisition of Kaleyra in October 2023, which expanded its customer base and enhanced its AI and omnichannel messaging offerings.
