Pilot Co-Working Space Opens At BurJuman MS
Dubai RTA Partners With Private Entity
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (Dubai RTA) has unveiled a unique initiative in collaboration with The Co-Spaces, a business incubator endorsed by Dubai SME.
This pilot project, WO-RK, features an innovative co-working concept within the bustling premises of BurJuman metro station on the Dubai Metro’s Green Line.
The co-working space, scheduled for a trial run in the second quarter of 2024, aims to provide a convenient, cost-effective, and inspiring work environment for Dubai Metro commuters.
Dubai RTA envisages that the WO-RK facility will ensure seamless accessibility via public transport in Dubai City, promoting sustainable commuting practices and contributing to the city’s efforts in mitigating traffic congestion and reducing carbon emissions.
Dubai Urban Plan 2040
Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of Commercial and Investment at Dubai RTA, expressed pride in the realisation of this concept and emphasised its alignment with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040.
He highlighted the initiative’s role in enhancing accessibility and fostering integration, catering to the evolving needs of modern work dynamics while promoting a healthy work-life balance for Dubai’s residents.
Shahzad Bhatti, founder of The Co-Spaces, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the partnership’s commitment to innovation, accessibility, and community well-being.
Together with Dubai RTA, The Co-Spaces aspires to redefine the future of workspaces, offering a blend of convenience, flexibility, and community engagement.
In addition to providing physical workspace solutions, WO-RK offers essential business support services, streamlining processes such as obtaining licences and facilitating business growth through educational and mentorship programmes.
Furthermore, WO-RK strongly emphasises community engagement, fostering connections among its members through shared spaces designed for socialisation and organising various events, workshops, and classes to cultivate a sense of belonging and collaboration.
The launch of the co-working space at BurJuman metro station marks a significant step towards enhancing Dubai City’s work environment, aligning with its vision of becoming a leader in urban sustainability and innovation in the Middle East region.
If the pilot project is successful, Dubai RTA and its partners envision expanding the initiative to other strategic locations across Dubai City’s public mobility network to enrich the city’s vibrant ecosystem of collaborative workspaces.
