Saltwater Games (SWG), a global Web3 game and mixed-reality studio, and Airspeeder, the world’s first motorsport series for electric flying cars, have entered an exclusive licence agreement to develop an immersive Play2Impact gaming experience.
Play2Impact is a new immersive game design category that merges the physical and virtual worlds for competition, rewards, education, and impact. Combined with the SWG integrated economic design model, gamers contribute directly to real-world social and environmental impact projects voted by the SWG community as they progress leveling up through the game, adding value and earning rewards.
Under the multi-year partnership agreement with Airspeeder, AirspeederXR, the first mixed-reality, AAA, Web3, free-to-play, play-to-earn and Play2Impact racing game, will also be accessible via Celeros, currently an invitation-only mixed reality racing metaverse built by SWG, a beta version of which releases in mid-2023.
Launching in 2023, AirSpeederXR will deliver a multiplayer, mixed-reality gaming experience providing the opportunity for virtual gamers to become real-world Airspeeder pilots. The flight racing game augmented by real-world physics is taken from thousands of Airspeeder flight hours.
The SWG and Airspeeder partnership was announced at the FII Institute Future Investment Initiative (FII) 6 – Investing in Humanity: Enabling a New Global Order’ event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (October 25-27, 2022).
