UAE Unveils New Program To Promote Emiratisation In Manufacturing, Industry, And Technology

The Industrialist Program is a new UAE initiative that aims to increase Emiratisation in the industrial sector and improve the region’s capabilities. The initiative was made possible by an MoU signed by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technologies (MoIAT), the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE), and the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis).

Emiratisation In The Industrial Sector

As part of the National In-Country Value initiative, the MoU intends to support UAE nationals’ talent, foster their skill development, and offer them work possibilities. At the event, Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council, Ahmad Yousuf Ahmad Al Nasser, Assistant Undersecretary of the MoHRE, and Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of MoIAT, signed the MoU. HE Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and HE Sarah Al Amiri, the UAE Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, were also present for the signing.

MoIAT Undersecretary HE Omar Al Suwaidi has said that the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology (NSIAT) encourages collaboration and partnerships with all segments of government and the business sector. Its goal is to make the most of the National ICV program’s incentives and enablers to boost industrial growth and competitiveness and to give Emiratis more good jobs in the private sector. The Industrialist Program, which is part of the National ICV initiative, will help UAE citizens find more skilled jobs.

MoIAT has implemented projects like the National ICV program, the Technology Transformation Program, and Make it in the Emirates to help businesses grow and become more competitive. By implementing these measures, the competitive advantages and enabling factors of the industrial sector are made even stronger. These measures also create opportunities for both local and foreign investors and for the development of national talent and skill sets.

HE Al Suwaidi said that the MoU would open up new doors. He said that the program would help develop local talent and give people the skills they need to do well in skilled jobs. The scheme will ensure that national training programs work together to meet the needs of factories. Also, it will show how committed ICV-certified businesses are to make the UAE their home.

The MoU covers two types of cooperation. This involves starting the Industrialist Program and creating a training program for Emiratis with the help of training facilities and the industrial sector. They will set up a Special Emiratization Committee to meet the goals of the National ICV program. MoIAT will be in charge of it, and MoHRE and Nafis will be members.

MoIAT, MoHRE, and Nafis will also start a nationwide campaign to create industrial jobs in the region. Through the commitment of the three groups, they can achieve the goals of the Industrialist Program. MoIAT will work with MoHRE to set up a way to share information about Emiratization and how it relates to ICV certification. Nafis will also pay for and help with training programs for people who meet the requirements to be eligible for a program or initiative based on the standards in place.
