The international jury composed of 250 experts from more than 30 countries.

This year the National Parmigiano Reggiano team was composed of 86 dairies from the 5 provinces of the area: Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna (to the left of the Reno River), and Mantua (to the right of the Po River). A group effort that earned the National Team 90 awards: 2 Super Gold (best cheese of the table), 17 gold medals, 33 silver, 38 bronze. Added to these are the 3 medals (one gold, one silver and one bronze) awarded to three dairies that entered the competition independently.

We return to Italy with our heads held high, with a total haul of 93 medals, including 2 Super Gold and 18 golds after battling with more than 4,000 cheeses from 45 countries around the world. A success that is a source of pride for our entire supply chain, which every day engages thousands of farmers from 305 artisan dairies in the pursuit of absolute excellence.”

“Parmigiano Reggiano is awarded from the Apennines to the plains, in all the provinces of the area of origin. The Welsh success brings to 561 the number of National Parmigiano Reggiano Team awards obtained in two decades in 7 different countries around the world,” commented Gabriele Arlotti, creator of the National Parmigiano Reggiano Team.
