The international jury of 250 experts from over 30 countries awarded Parmigiano Reggiano 93 medals, 2 of which are Super Gold
Dubai, UAE: November 16, 2022 – Parmigiano Reggiano won 93 medals and reaffirmed its status as the most awarded cheese at the World Cheese Awards, the world’s leading international cheese competition that took place in Newport, Wales. The international jury composed of 250 experts from more than 30 countries.
This year the National Parmigiano Reggiano team was composed of 86 dairies from the 5 provinces of the area: Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna (to the left of the Reno River), and Mantua (to the right of the Po River). A group effort that earned the National Team 90 awards: 2 Super Gold (best cheese of the table), 17 gold medals, 33 silver, 38 bronze. Added to these are the 3 medals (one gold, one silver and one bronze) awarded to three dairies that entered the competition independently.
