Flowwow Presents Artwork Created with Azra To Celebrate Women Empowerment
Flowwow, a UAE-based gifting marketplace, and henna artist Azra Khamissa, have unveiled a limited-edition collection of postcards, featuring an exclusive henna design by Azra. This collaboration, available on the Flowwow website and app until August 28th, aims to celebrate Emirati Women’s Day by inspiring women to reconnect with their inner child and recognise their journeys and achievements.
According to the 2024 World Bank report, the UAE ranked seventh globally and first in the MENA region for efforts in promoting gender equality. With women comprising 66% of the public sector workforce, while 30% of women being employed in leadership roles, and 15% in technical and academic roles, the country is making strides towards gender balance.
To accelerate its commitment towards cultivating a gender-equal environment, the UAE Gender Balance Council recently mandated the private sector to place women in 30% of all leadership positions by 2025.

The design by Azra symbolizes the essence of childhood wonder and the strength of womanhood, depicting an orange tree representing good fortune and determination, and simple flowers signifying beauty and purity.
Reflecting on her art, Azra Khamissa shared, “As a woman, I believe our strength lies in our emotions and our abilities to feel and care for those around us. Hence, I want to inspire other girls and women to follow their gut feeling and passions to realize their potential in any space they want as I’m doing through art”.
To complement the postcards, Azra has curated a special collection of gifts available on Flowwow. These thoughtfully selected items embody the essence of her designs, making them perfect for celebrating women in your life. The collection will be available on the Flowwow website from August 21 to August 28.
