Kingston Technology to launch Fury Renegade DDR5 CUDIMM modules
Compatible with Intel’s 800-series chipset
Kingston Technology, a global leader in memory products and technology solutions, is set to launch the Fury Renegade DDR5 CUDIMMs. These modules are designed to be fully compatible with Intel’s newly introduced 800-series chipset, previously codenamed Arrow Lake.
The Intel 800-series chipset marks a significant advancement. It is the first platform to incorporate Clock Drivers on Clocked Unbuffered Dual Inline Memory Modules (CUDIMMs).
According to JEDEC standards, including a Client Clock Driver (CKD) on DDR5 modules operating at 6400MT/s is crucial. This driver enhances the integrity of the clock signal between the processor and the memory module, thereby boosting performance. JEDEC has officially categorised these sophisticated modules as CUDIMMs and CSODIMMs for standard DDR5 UDIMMs and SODIMMs, respectively.
Kingston’s new Fury Renegade offerings feature RGB and non-RGB variants, starting at an impressive overclocked speed of 8400MT/s. They will be available in configurations of 24GB single modules and 48GB dual-channel kits.
Importantly, CUDIMMs and standard UDIMMs share a 288-pin connector, allowing Fury UDIMMs with XMP and EXPO profiles to function on Intel 800-series motherboards. Users can confirm compatibility via the motherboard manufacturer’s Qualified Vendor List (QVL) or Kingston’s Configurator tool for supported specifications.
Iwona Zalewska, DRAM Business Manager for EMEA at Kingston Technology, emphasised the rigorous testing and qualification process the new CUDIMM modules have undergone. “Our new 8400MT/s CUDIMM modules have been thoroughly tested and certified by top motherboard manufacturers, including Intel XMP certification for the latest Intel Z890 motherboards with Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors,” she stated.
The overclockable DDR5 CUDIMM modules aim to cater to a diverse range of professionals seeking high-performance memory solutions. Zalewska added, “We are excited to offer products that allow users to push the limits of their systems without sacrificing signal integrity.”
The Fury Renegade DDR5 CUDIMMs will begin shipping on November 18, 2024, promising to enhance the computing experience for gamers, content creators, and other high-performance users.
