DOUBLE HOME VICTORY FOR JAGUAR TCS RACING IN LONDON AS NICK CASSIDY CLAIMS BACK-TO-BACK WINS AND SEALS SECOND PLACE IN THE FORMULA E DRIVERS’ WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Jaguar TCS Racing delivered a sensational end to the 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, claiming back-to-back victories at its home E-Prix in London, securing second place in the Drivers’, Teams’ and Manufacturers’ standings, and celebrating a historic season finale for the team.

Nick Cassidy (#37) was the star of the weekend, taking a dominant lights-to-flag victory in Round 16 following a stunning comeback win from fifth on the grid in Round 15. The Kiwi’s back-to-back wins marked his third and fourth victories in the last five races, securing him second place in the Drivers’ World Championship and capping off his final race with Jaguar TCS Racing in style.

In Round 15, Cassidy fought his way from fifth to the top of the podium after a perfectly executed strategy and critical overtakes, most notably passing Mahindra’s Nyck de Vries on lap 28 to take the lead. His victory, combined with four points from Mitch Evans’ pole position and tenth-place finish, propelled Jaguar TCS Racing into third in the Teams’ standings with one round to go.

Evans (#9), who secured his second pole in three races in Round 15, was impacted by strategic misfortune and contact from Kiro’s Dan Ticktum, ultimately salvaging a single point in P10. Nevertheless, the team returned to the track for the season finale with renewed focus and momentum.

In Round 16, Cassidy started from the front row after teammate Evans generously backed off during their Semi Final duel to maximise Cassidy’s championship chances. With Kiro’s Ticktum handed a five-place grid penalty for prior contact with Evans, Cassidy started from pole and never looked back, leading every lap en route to his sixth victory with Jaguar and 11th overall in Formula E.

Evans followed closely behind and defended brilliantly from De Vries to cross the line in second, appearing to secure Jaguar’s first 1-2 finish of the season. However, a five-second penalty for a Full Course Yellow infringement saw Evans classified in P5.

Despite the setback, his points were vital in helping the team secure P2 in the Teams’ Championship and lift Jaguar to second in the Manufacturers’ standings.

The results mark a triumphant end to James Barclay’s tenure as Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal. After 127 races, 22 wins, 53 podiums, 13 pole positions, and a Teams’ World Championship title in 2024, Barclay bids farewell with Jaguar TCS Racing enjoying its most successful Formula E season since joining the championship in 2016.

James Barclay, Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal: “What a way to finish the season! This is a truly incredible way to end my time with this remarkable team. Two wins out of two at our home event, our fourth victory in a row, and moving into P2 in all three championships is a tremendous achievement that everybody at Jaguar TCS Racing should be proud of. Everyone has worked tirelessly across the campaign to ensure we got back to where we belong, fighting for wins and podiums, and five victories from the last six races is what I call an epic comeback story to rival some of the best sporting achievements.

Nick has been in sensational form this weekend – three wins in a row, two at home, and fastest lap – and he ends his time with Jaguar TCS Racing on an absolute high. He has etched his name into the history of this team and Jaguar’s motorsport legacy.

We are disappointed for Mitch who was denied a podium and a 1-2 finish due to an unfortunate time penalty. He’s shown incredible pace and character throughout the season and we’re proud of everything he continues to deliver. I leave this team full of pride and optimism for the future, this weekend showed exactly what Jaguar TCS Racing is capable of.”

Nick Cassidy, Jaguar TCS Racing Driver, #37: “It’s an unbelievable feeling to win here at home for Jaguar TCS Racing – and to do it twice in two days is even more special. We all have so many friends, family and partners here, and to deliver this result on home soil, in my last race for the team, means everything.

It was the most relaxed I’ve felt behind the wheel all season. We nailed the strategy, the pace was there, and I’m massively appreciative of Mitch’s support in qualifying – it meant a lot. I’m so grateful to everyone at Jaguar for trusting me, for giving me this opportunity, and for an incredible journey together.”

Mitch Evans, Jaguar TCS Racing Driver, #9: “Frustrating again personally, but I’m happy for the team. In Round 15, we had the pace but things didn’t fall our way with strategy and race traffic. In the finale, I felt really strong, finished P2 on the road, but the time penalty meant we missed out on the podium. I’ll be talking to the team to fully understand that situation, but I’m proud to have helped secure second in the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ standings.

It’s also a fitting send-off for James – he gave me my shot in Formula E, and I’ll always be grateful for that. We showed the potential in the car, and I’m looking forward to carrying this momentum into next season.”
