Dubai opens scholarship applications for outstanding students at Rashid and Latifa Schools

The Rashid and Latifa Schools Establishment (RLSE) has announced the opening of scholarship applications for academically gifted students entering Years 7, 8, and 9 in the 2026–2027 academic year. Applications will open on October 6, 2025, and run until November 7, 2025, according to Dubai Media Office.

The programme is open to both Emirati and expatriate students enrolled in the British curriculum, reinforcing RLSE’s mission to nurture talent and elevate Dubai’s position as a global hub for quality education.

Vision-driven education

Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Belhoul Al Falasi, Chairman of RLSE, said the initiative is aligned with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to prioritise outcome-driven education.

He noted that the scholarship drive also supports the Dubai Education Strategy 2033, launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. The strategy emphasises student-centred learning while advancing the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and Dubai Social Agenda 33.

Nurturing leaders of tomorrow

Since their founding in the early 1980s, Rashid School for Boys and Latifa School for Girls have produced more than 2,000 graduates, including ministers, senior officials, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. Today, nearly 19% of the UAE Cabinet are alumni of the schools.

Dr. Rabaa Al Sumaiti, CEO of RLSE, highlighted the schools’ distinctive approach to blending academic excellence with national identity. “The exclusive Leadership Diploma offered alongside secondary qualifications reflects our focus on shaping students’ character, critical thinking, innovation, and leadership skills—key to building a globally competitive generation,” she said.

Beyond the classroom

Dr. Al Sumaiti also emphasised the schools’ holistic development model, which combines rigorous academics with life skills training. “We aim to instil discipline, responsibility, and initiative, equipping our students to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation,” she added.

The scholarship programme will evaluate applicants based on academic performance as well as talents in leadership, sports, entrepreneurship, technology, artificial intelligence, arts, creativity, public speaking, and Arabic language proficiency. Candidates who pass the initial screening will undergo further assessments to meet RLSE’s standards.

State-of-the-art campus

The Rashid and Latifa Schools’ new campus  the largest in the Gulf region spans 280,000 square metres and is designed with sustainability and innovation in mind. It features dedicated residential facilities for boys and girls, an Arabic and Islamic studies centre, a world-class theatre, Olympic-standard sports fields, advanced AI and e-sports labs, and creative arts studios.

The institution says these facilities are meant to cultivate not only academic excellence but also creativity, leadership, and cultural identity among Dubai’s next generation.
