Dubai: Four Categories of People of Determination Exempted from Salik Tolls

Residents with specific disabilities are now exempt from paying Salik toll fees, according to an update shared by Dubai’s toll operator on its official website.

Under the new policy, individuals with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, or visual impairments are eligible for toll exemptions.

To qualify, the vehicle must either be registered under the name of the person of determination or a direct family member. Eligible relatives include parents, spouses (supported by a marriage certificate), children (with a birth certificate), grandparents, siblings, or grandchildren.

How to Apply for the Exemption

Applicants must provide the following documents:

  • A valid vehicle registration under the applicant’s or a first- or second-degree relative’s name
  • A valid Emirates ID
  • A valid People of Determination card issued by the Ministry of Community Development or a Sanad Card issued by the Dubai Community Development Authority
  • Proof of family relationship (if the vehicle is not owned by the applicant)

Applications can be submitted online via the official Salik website. Users should select “Salik Services” and complete the Toll Exemption Request form. Supporting documents may also be emailed to [email protected].

Dubai currently operates 10 Salik toll gates positioned along key routes, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Al Maktoum Bridge, Al Garhoud Bridge, Al Ittihad Road, Beirut Street, and Jebel Ali ensuring seamless traffic flow while accommodating residents with special needs through inclusive exemptions.
