The spirit of Diwali, India’s Festival of Lights, is set to illuminate Dubai this October with a dazzling line-up of festivities, fireworks, and cultural performances across the city.
Running from October 17 to 25, this year’s celebrations promise to be Dubai’s biggest yet, featuring breathtaking fireworks at Al Seef and Global Village, alongside the much-anticipated “Noor: Festival of Lights” a three-day cultural extravaganza that embodies the city’s vibrant diversity.
Fireworks schedule revealed
The celebrations will kick off with a grand fireworks show at Al Seef on October 17 at 9pm, painting the skies above Dubai Creek with a symphony of colours. Against the backdrop of traditional dhows and historic architecture, the display will blend old-world charm with modern grandeur.
Organisers are advising families to arrive early to secure the best viewing spots, as large crowds are expected at the popular waterfront destination.
The festivities will then move to Global Village, where visitors can enjoy four nights of fireworks at 9pm on October 18, 19, 24, and 25 enhancing the venue’s festive atmosphere during the Diwali weekend.
Noor: Festival of Lights
Adding a cultural dimension to the celebrations, the Noor Festival will light up Souk Al Seef from October 17 to 19, starting at 6pm on opening night. Presented by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) under the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), in collaboration with the Indian Consulate in Dubai and Teamwork Arts, the festival will showcase the very essence of Diwali hope, joy, and the triumph of light over darkness.
“Diwali is a festival that brings people together a reminder to celebrate harmony and shared humanity,” organisers said. “Noor: Festival of Lights recreates that magic in Dubai, where cultures converge under one sky.”
A celebration of community and culture
Built around the theme of “unity in diversity,” the Noor Festival will host an array of performances and interactive experiences, including poetry readings, dance shows, live music, storytelling, stand-up comedy, and workshops that highlight Indian art and traditions.
Visitors can also take part in rangoli-making, drumming sessions, and other community-driven activities that showcase the vibrant cultural mosaic of India.
The festival will culminate with a spectacular fireworks finale, lighting up the night sky over the historic Dubai Creek a powerful symbol of Diwali’s message: light conquering darkness.
Free for all
All events under Noor: Festival of Lights are free to attend, making it an open invitation for residents and tourists alike to experience Dubai’s inclusive cultural spirit.
Set against the enchanting backdrop of Al Seef, the celebration promises an unforgettable blend of music, art, and togetherness, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a global city that embraces every culture with warmth and grandeur.
