AJMAN, January 26, 2026 His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has issued Law No. (1) of 2026 to establish the Rental Dispute Resolution Centre in the emirate, replacing the existing rental disputes committee.
The new law is designed to strengthen the legislative framework governing rental relations in Ajman, while reinforcing principles of justice and ensuring the swift and fair resolution of disputes. It sets out clear mechanisms for reviewing and adjudicating rental cases with greater efficiency and transparency, safeguarding the rights of both landlords and tenants.
By introducing a specialised judicial body, the law aims to enhance stability in the real estate sector and support Ajman’s wider investment environment. The centre will have jurisdiction over all rental disputes related to properties located within the emirate, including those in free zones, and will operate in line with recognised legal and judicial best practices.
The legislation also outlines the centre’s powers and the procedures for appealing its decisions, with the objective of simplifying processes, reducing litigation timelines, and delivering prompt justice. These measures are expected to contribute to social and economic stability across the real estate leasing market.
The law will come into force on February 1, 2026, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
