The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan have jointly issued a strong condemnation of what they described as “blatant” Iranian attacks, calling them a clear violation of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law.

In a unified statement, the six nations said the actions — whether carried out directly or through Iran-backed armed groups — breach international humanitarian law and the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter. They stressed that such activities threaten regional stability and security.

The countries highlighted recent attacks launched by armed factions loyal to Iran from within Iraq, targeting multiple nations as well as critical infrastructure. They said these actions violate international conventions and contravene United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which calls on Iran to immediately cease all forms of aggression or threats against neighbouring states, including through proxy groups.

While reaffirming their strong ties with Iraq, the countries urged the Iraqi government to take decisive steps to prevent militias and armed factions from using Iraqi territory to launch attacks. They warned that failure to act could risk further escalation and strain regional relations.

The joint statement also reaffirmed the countries’ right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter. They emphasised their readiness to take all necessary measures to protect their sovereignty, security, and national stability in response to ongoing threats.
