Q Mobility has announced the activation of a paid parking system across additional commercial sectors in Mohamed Bin Zayed City, effective 6 May 2026. The move comes under the regulatory oversight of the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
The latest rollout forms part of a wider expansion strategy aimed at improving parking management, reducing congestion, and enhancing the overall mobility experience for residents and visitors across the capital.
The third phase of the initiative covers commercial sectors ME9 and ME12, areas that have seen rising traffic volumes and commercial activity. Authorities say the introduction of paid parking will help curb random parking, streamline access to businesses and services, and support smoother traffic flow in these high-demand zones.
Mohamed Bin Zayed City remains one of Abu Dhabi’s busiest residential and commercial districts, with significant daily vehicle movement driven by employees and visitors. Officials noted that implementing smart mobility solutions has become essential to maintain efficient traffic systems and improve urban living standards.
A total of 10,205 parking spaces have been included in this phase, with 3,219 spaces allocated to ME9 and 6,986 to ME12. The rollout also includes designated parking for People of Determination, reinforcing efforts to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
Standard parking fees have been set at AED2 per hour. Users can make payments through digital platforms such as the Darb and TAMM, as well as via SMS or on-site payment machines.
The first phase of the parking regulation programme began on 15 December 2025 as a free initiative across sectors ME9, ME10, ME11 and ME12. The second phase followed on 6 April 2026, introducing paid parking in ME10 and ME11, along with key commercial streets in villa zones Z17-01, Z19, Z20 and Z27.
Q Mobility stated that the continued rollout reflects a broader strategy to enhance traffic flow, improve parking efficiency, and contribute to a more sustainable and well-organised urban environment across Abu Dhabi.
