Kuwaiti authorities have renewed warnings against transporting illegal residents and operating passenger transport services without official permits, stressing that offenders could face prison sentences of up to three years along with substantial financial penalties.
According to local media reports, drivers caught using private vehicles to transport passengers for payment without obtaining the necessary licences may be issued an immediate settlement fine of KD150.
Authorities said cases referred to court could result in jail terms ranging from one to three years and fines between KD600 and KD1,000, depending on the severity of the violation.
Officials also confirmed that vehicles involved in illegal transport activities would be impounded, while expatriates arrested in connection with the offences would be transferred to traffic police stations to face legal procedures.
The warning comes as Kuwait continues to intensify inspection campaigns targeting labour, residency, and transport violations as part of broader efforts to regulate the expatriate workforce and combat unlawful activities across the country.
