Dubai Taxi Company, National Taxi extend Hala partnership for five years

Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC) and National Taxi LLC have renewed their strategic partnership with Hala for an additional five years, reinforcing their commitment to advancing digital mobility and improving taxi services across Dubai.

Hala, a joint venture between Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Careem, has played a significant role in modernising the emirate’s taxi industry since its introduction in 2019.

Under the renewed agreement, Dubai Taxi Company and National Taxi will make more than 7,700 taxis available for booking through Hala on the Careem app, excluding their airport fleets.

The agreement further strengthens Hala’s position in Dubai’s transport sector, with the platform currently connecting customers to more than 13,000 registered taxis and over 26,000 Captains.

Since the partnership began, passengers have booked nearly 120 million trips through Hala using taxis operated by DTC and National Taxi. The milestone highlights growing demand for convenient, app-based transportation among Dubai residents and visitors.

As one of the Middle East’s pioneering homegrown e-hailing services, Hala has helped transform traditional taxi operations by integrating public transport services with private-sector digital technology.

The platform has also contributed to Dubai’s wider smart mobility ambitions by making taxi bookings more accessible and streamlining the passenger experience through the Careem application.

By combining DTC’s established fleet management expertise and operational capabilities with Careem’s ride-hailing technology, Hala continues to support the development of Dubai’s digitally connected transport network.

The five-year extension is expected to provide continuity for the partnership as the companies work to enhance the accessibility, efficiency and convenience of taxi services across the emirate.
