Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Services Facilitates Blood Donor Volunteer Credit Hours

It was recently announced by Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Services that blood donors can now earn volunteer hours through the UAE Volunteer Platform. The number of volunteer hours awarded to blood donors will vary with the type of blood they give. Giving blood counts as two hours and donating platelets as three. This program can help college students fulfill the community service requirements for their degrees. Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Services is one of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi’s strategic services. It is operated by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA).

Dr. Saleh Al Ali has emphasized that maintaining the effectiveness of healthcare services requires a global system that prioritizes blood donation and the availability of blood units. At the Department of Health, Dr. Saleh Al Ali serves as the Executive Director of the Centre for Emergency Preparedness and Response. He further stated that the Abu Dhabi Department of Health is working hard to meet the needs of its citizens by maintaining a stable supply of blood. This is because they care about the well-being of their entire community and want to make sure the emirate is prepared to handle health crises in accordance with global norms and standards. Their ongoing efforts, in collaboration with their healthcare industry partners, are directed at increasing the public’s understanding of blood donation as a selfless act that helps save the lives of countless individuals.

The Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Services, according to their director, Dr. Huda Khalfan Al Shamsi, will benefit greatly from the UAE Volunteer Platform because they are constantly working to improve their programs and projects in order to keep up with innovations that help them secure blood in regular quantities to save the lives of patients. There’s a big emphasis on how donating blood can change people’s lives by providing them with a second chance at survival. To this end, the UAE Volunteer Platform facilitates the recruitment of voluntary blood donors.
