Acronis expands cyber cloud presence with new data centre in Berlin
In partnership with Ionos
Acronis, a global cybersecurity and data protection leader, has partnered with Ionos, Europe’s leading digitalisation partner for small and medium-sized enterprises, to launch a new Cyber Cloud data centre in Berlin, Germany.
The strategic initiative aims to enhance the European market’s cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity offerings, providing businesses with comprehensive data protection solutions.
The newly established data centre is strategically positioned within the Ionos cloud infrastructure and works in conjunction with the Ionos facility in Frankfurt. This geo-redundant setup ensures businesses benefit from enhanced disaster recovery options and robust cybersecurity measures.
The partnership combines Acronis’ expertise in cyber protection with Ionos’ reliable infrastructure, offering a powerful defence against evolving cyber threats.
Markus Fritz, General Manager of Acronis for the DACH region, emphasised the partnership’s multifaceted benefits: “By teaming up with Ionos, we deliver a solution that ensures reliable infrastructure, enhanced data protection, and compliance with stringent regulatory requirements. This collaboration allows businesses to safeguard their data and scale operations securely.”
DRaaS
Introducing new services, such as Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), is anticipated to enrich the offerings available to clients further. This aligns with Acronis’ commitment to integrating advanced technology to meet the increasing market demands.
The data centre, which adheres to Tier III standards, guarantees high reliability, data sovereignty, and exceptional performance, backed by certifications such as C5 and ISO 27001.
“This launch strengthens our global network, allowing our customers to comply with local regulations while enjoying superior connectivity,” Fritz added. “We are continually expanding our Cyber Cloud footprint to deliver unparalleled data protection solutions tailored to the unique needs of our service providers and their clients.”
The state-of-the-art facility has cutting-edge hardware and operational controls to ensure the utmost security and accessibility for critical data and applications. Acronis employs a plus-one (N+1) approach to redundancy, minimising risks and preventing single points of failure in the infrastructure.
Diogo Lopes, Head of Data Centre Operations at Acronis, noted the significance of this expansion: “Each new Cyber Cloud data centre we launch strengthens our availability network. This facility not only enhances speed and reliability but also allows us better to meet the specific needs of the local market.”
The Berlin data centre is a crucial addition to Acronis’ global network, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing innovative data protection solutions. As the demand for cybersecurity continues to grow, this new facility positions Acronis and Ionos as critical players in ensuring businesses can operate securely in an increasingly digital world.
