The Al Bader Award has been selected as Guest of Honour at the ninth Fez International Festival of Arabic Calligraphy Art and Ornamentation, held in the Kingdom of Morocco from 28 to 30 June 2024, under the theme ‘Ambassador’.
The event is organised by the Chameleon Association of Fine Arts, with support from Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication.
The Al Bader Award, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, is recognised as one of the most prominent in its field, and is held biennially as part of the Al Bader initiative, which aims to celebrate the love of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), shed light on his life, and promote the tolerant values of Islam. It seeks to promote Islamic principles and teachings, and to draw valuable lessons from them, through a range of activities, events, and live workshops, bringing together creative individuals from various artistic and literary fields around the world.
The Award’s presence at this year’s Festival serves to further promote it and encourage creative individuals to participate in its various categories with their writings and artistic works. The Award recognises contributions related to the life of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) that highlight the enduring values and lessons therein and help pass them down to future generations.
The Fez International Festival of Arabic Calligraphy Art and Ornamentation honoured the Office of H.H. Crown Prince of Fujairah, represented by its Director, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi. The acknowledgement for Al Bader Award reflects appreciation for the efforts that the Office has made to elevate the Award’s status both regionally and globally, highlighting its sponsorship of cultural and artistic events and its support for artists.
The Festival is a prominent artistic event dedicated to enthusiasts of Islamic arts, particularly Arabic calligraphy, ornamentation, and fine arts. It garners extensive international participation from artists and calligraphers who attend the event to showcase their creative works and expertise.
