Azizi Developments sponsors 6th meeting of the Dubai Racing Carnival

Azizi Developments, a leading private developer in the UAE, is sponsoring the sixth meeting of the Dubai Racing Carnival on Friday, February 7th, at the Meydan Racecourse, covering all nine races. Building on its long-standing 8-year partnership with the Dubai Racing Club, this commitment also aligns with the developer’s presence in MBR City, where it is delivering a major master-planned community in Meydan.

The action will kick off at 5:30 PM with the Dubai Trophy, a high-intensity three-year-old turf contest in which the winning owner will walk away with AED 350,000. Following this, the competition will intensify with the Azizi Riviera Handicap at 6:05 PM and the Azizi Mina Handicap at 6:40 PM, both featuring elite thoroughbreds. As the night progresses, attention will turn to the headlining event—the Lord Glitters Handicap, an AED 350,000 showdown that last year saw British-trained Ouzo claim victory. The highly anticipated Vazirabad Handicap, a 2,410-meter endurance test, will take place at 9:00 PM, won in 2024 by Godolphin’s Ruling Dynasty. The evening will conclude with the Azizi Wasl race at 9:35 PM, bringing an unforgettable night of equestrian excellence to a close.

Mr. Farhad Azizi, Group CEO of the Azizi group of companies, said: “We are pleased to sponsor the Dubai Racing Carnival for the eighth consecutive year. Our close partnership with the Dubai Racing Club underpins our support of an exciting sport that is deeply woven into the UAE’s rich heritage. This collaboration supports the equestrian tradition and aligns with our mission to bring communities together. Through such initiatives, we take pride in reinforcing the emirate’s global reputation—not just as the best city to live, visit, and work in, but as a premier destination for world-class events.”

His Excellency Ali Al Ali, CEO and Board Member of the Dubai Racing Club, said: “We look forward to welcoming our friends at Azizi back to Meydan Racecourse on Friday for an extremely important evening, featuring the Lord Glitters Handicap and plenty of exciting racing on both turf and dirt tracks. Azizi have been highly valued partners with Dubai Racing Club for several seasons, also sponsoring the G1 Azizi Developments Al Quoz Sprint at the Dubai World Cup meeting. We thank them once again for their support and wish their team and guests an enjoyable evening.”

The Zabeel Mile, worth an incredible AED 850,000, is complemented by the Group 3 Dubawi Stakes, a vital prep race towards the G1 Dubai Golden Shaheen on 30 March. Now worth AED 700,000, the 1,200-meter dirt contest was won last year by star sprinter Switzerland, who went on to finish second in the Golden Shaheen, a race he won in 2022.

Riviera is part of Azizi Developments’ award-winning portfolio. It is a stylish waterfront lifestyle destination that comprises 75 mid- and high-rise buildings with approximately 16,000 residences.

Designed to introduce the French-Mediterranean lifestyle to Dubai, which is not merely about architectural art but also about a certain ‘joie de vivre’ — a celebration of life, an exultation of spirit, Riviera represents a new landmark destination that is both residential and commercial, with an abundance of retail space. Riviera features three districts: an extensive retail boulevard, a lagoon walk on the shores of its 2.7 km-long swimmable crystal lagoon with artisan eateries and boutiques, and Les Jardins — a vast, lush-green social space.

With its strategic location near the upcoming Meydan One Mall and the Meydan Racecourse — home of the Dubai World Cup — as well as Dubai’s most noteworthy points of interest, Riviera represents one of Azizi Developments’ most coveted projects.
