DC Aviation Al-Futtaim conducts 60-month check of Bombardier aircraft

DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF) – the business aviation services partnership between Dubai-based Al-Futtaim Group and Stuttgart-based DC Aviation Group – has completed its first 60-month heavy maintenance check of a Bombardier Global 6000 aircraft.

The privately owned aircraft underwent its first heavy maintenance check at DCAF’s hangar located at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport, also known as Dubai World Central (DWC).

The comprehensive inspection was the largest such project undertaken by DCAF on a Bombardier Global 6000 and involved more than 2,000 man hours, with the support of Dubai-based and overseas partners.

Bombardier’s Global 6000 aircraft has the longest maintenance intervals versus its competitors.

Chris Rosewarne, Maintenance Manager, DCAF said: “This is an important milestone which marks the first time DCAF’s highly trained technicians have performed a 60-month check on a Global 6000 aircraft.

Customer service

“The successful completion of this complex inspection highlights the investments we have made in expanding our capabilities, which have allowed us to provide our customers with reliable and cost-effective maintenance services.

“We are delighted to offer this high level of expertise and comprehensive support, including battery and wheel shop capabilities, for [Bombardier] Global and Challenger aircraft at DWC,” Rosewarne added.

Post-pandemic, business aviation has rebounded across much of the Middle East and GCC region, with the industry being increasingly focussed on sustainability, to the extent currently possible.

In this context, Ali Ahmed Alnaqbi, Founding & Executive Chairman of the Dubai-headquartered Middle East & North Africa Business Aviation Association (MEBAA), has pointed to the ‘remarkable strides we [business aviation industry] have made towards sustainability, a greener future, and the increased utilisation of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)’.

‘One of our industry’s most significant achievements in the pursuit of sustainability is its commitment to the development and utilisation of SAF,’ Alnaqbi added.

DCAF’s maintenance teams cater to various types of business jets, including the Airbus 320 family, Bombardier Global, Bombardier Challenger 604/605/650, and Dassault Falcon 7X/900.
