Cloudera earns FedRAMP ‘In Process’ status
Company securely manages key US governmental data
Cloudera has achieved ‘In Process’ status within the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
The achievement confirms Cloudera’s commitment to cybersecurity and hybrid cloud data management by delivering one of the industry’s most secure, robust platforms for public sector organisations.
FedRAMP is a US federal government-wide compliance programme that provides a standardised approach to security assessment, authorisation, and continuous cloud product and service monitoring.
The Santa Clara, California-headquartered data company for trusted enterprise AI is now listed as ‘In Process’ in the (FedRAMP) marketplace.
Vital role
With the US federal and state governments increasingly deploying AI-driven systems and data for citizen services to strengthen national security and accelerate agency missions, Cloudera plays a vital role in this scenario by delivering secure ways to collect, access, and analyse American government entities’ data, wherever it may reside. In so doing, the company secures and accelerates AI rollout across the US government.
Rob Carey, President of Government Solutions at Cloudera, said: “The US government’s access to real-time data is a matter of national security.
“Cloudera’s ability to operate securely at an immense scale is exemplified by its ability to safely manage more than 25+ exabytes of data, with single organisations operating at a larger scale than cloud-only data management providers.
“Our work touches everything, from smart military bases to DoD [Department of Defense] flight safety to improving cybersecurity postures. Achieving this ‘In Process’ milestone is a critical moment in Cloudera’s ongoing work as a partner to [US] government agencies and further proof of our commitment to delivering the most robust data governance and modernisation strategies to the public sector.”
AI acceleration
With its proprietary trustworthy hybrid data platform and FedRAMP authorisation in process, Cloudera is now set to help accelerate the US governmental agencies’ successful mission outcomes through secure data storage and management.
In a statement, Cloudera noted that US federal and state government agencies rely on the company to turn siloed data into strategic assets that enable timely and informed decisions, with consistent security and governance built in.
According to Cloudera, with its anticipated FedRAMP authorisation, even more organisations can rely on the company to deliver AI built on the industry’s only hybrid data infrastructure. This will enable secure and better decision-making on behalf of constituents, whether the data resides on-premises or in the cloud.
