Cloudera strengthens leadership team with 3 new appointments
Trio to galvanise business growth and deliver trusted enterprise AI
Cloudera – a global leader in hybrid data analytics, trusted enterprise AI and cloud solutions – has reinforced its executive leadership team by appointing three new department heads to spearhead business development and facilitate its enterprise customers’ digital transformation and AI transition.
Mary Wells is Cloudera’s new chief marketing officer (seen left), Dipto Chakravarty is the new chief product officer (seen middle), and Dilip Upmanyu is the newly appointed chief financial officer (seen right).
Wells takes responsibility for Cloudera’s global marketing strategies, campaigns, and initiatives, including the company’s newly launched enterprise AI-focused brand campaign, Trust Your Data.
Chakravarty now leads global product strategy, creation, and development for Cloudera, while Upmanyu directs financial functions, including new growth opportunities and strategic investments.
Wells, Chakravarty and Upmanyu join Charles Sansbury, who was appointed CEO of Cloudera in August 2023, as he leads the California-headquartered company into its next phase of growth against the backdrop of fast-paced changes in the data industry resulting from generative AI technologies.
Extending a welcome
Sansbury said: “I am delighted that Mary, Dipto, and Dilip have joined the Cloudera team at such unprecedented evolution in the market and as we embark on our most consequential chapter yet.
“Their bold ideas and decades of technology leadership will bring a welcome perspective to our executive group. Their experience will also help us maintain true north as we drive new growth, pioneer groundbreaking products, and nurture innovative partnerships that empower global enterprises to exploit their most prized assets,” Sansbury added.
Wells was previously chief marketing officer at ASG Technologies, an information management and IT systems solutions provider. Her over 25 years of experience includes marketing leadership roles at HP, Axeda Corporation, Kalido, and BEA Systems.
Chakravarty joins Cloudera from Amazon, where he was the head of data engineering in the artificial general intelligence group and led the AWS cloud practice. With over 30 years of experience, Chakravarty has domain expertise in generative AI, data, cloud security, and open source.
Upmanyu was previously the chief financial officer of ASG Technologies. With over 25 years of experience, Upmanyu previously held finance leadership positions at The Attachmate Group, NetIQ, and IBM.
Several members of Cloudera’s C-suite joined Sansbury in New York on November 2, 2023, for Evolve NYC, Cloudera’s flagship event that forms part of the Evolve 2023 global calendar for partners, customers, and data professionals in the Cloudera ecosystem to share the latest on data strategy and trusted AI.
