Cloudera to unveil GenAI and data innovations at LEAP 2024
Company reiterates support for regional tech community
Cloudera, the Santa Clara, California-headquartered data company for enterprise AI, is exhibiting at the third annual edition of LEAP, Saudi Arabia’s premier technology expo, in Riyadh from March 4-7, 2024.
The company’s upcoming participation in the largest tech event in the MENA region underscores its commitment to innovation, focusing on unveiling revolutionary Generative AI (GenAI) solutions and advancements in enterprise AI and hybrid data architectures.
At LEAP 2024, Cloudera will showcase the transformative potential of GenAI with a spotlight on Cloudera Machine Learning (CML) solutions. The focus is empowering businesses to leverage AI while prioritising trust, security, and responsibility.
GenAi blueprints
With 25 exabytes under its management, Cloudera will unveil blueprints for generative AI, enabling companies to develop their own AI applications using an open-source Large Language Model (LLM) of their choice and their data hosted internally within the enterprise.
In addition, Cloudera will demonstrate how its hybrid data platform facilitates access and analysis of all data across multiple public and private clouds and on-premises infrastructure. This ensures smarter, data-driven decision-making with enhanced IT controls, superior performance, and reduced costs.
Ahmad Shakora, Group Vice President – Emerging Markets (META) at Cloudera, highlighted Cloudera’s dedication to the tech community in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East.
He said: “LEAP 2024 provides an exceptional platform for us to demonstrate our dedication and responsibility to the industry. It enables us to engage with individuals and potential clients, showcasing our capabilities through hands-on product experiences.”
Saudi commitment
Shakora also highlighted the importance of collaboration in shaping Saudi Arabia’s tech landscape, stressing the synergy between diverse perspectives and expertise.
According to Cloudera, the Middle East is rapidly deploying public cloud technologies, with 71% of organisations already leveraging them and 86% planning to migrate more data to the cloud within the next one to three years.
However, IT complexity, integration obstacles, cybersecurity concerns, and data governance issues impede broader data migration efforts across the Middle East region.
With its participation at LEAP 2024, Cloudera aims to address these challenges and dispel misconceptions about the industry and technology.
Saudi Arabia represents a crucial market for Cloudera due to its substantial investments in AI technology development.
According to Shakora: “The shifting focus of international tech investment to Saudi Arabia is a strategic move with immense potential. The kingdom’s emergence as a hub for global tech acquisition aligns with the global trend of harnessing advanced technologies for economic growth and sustainable development.”
The second edition of LEAP, held in Riyadh from February 6-9, 2023, registered FDI totalling $9 billion, substantially boosting Saudi Arabia’s role as the most significant digital market in the MENA region and overshadowing neighbouring UAE.
The AI sector in the Middle East region is projected to see $326 billion in investment by 2030. Saudi Arabia is poised to lead in contributing to this economic value, with an expected input surpassing $136 billion, followed by the UAE with $96 billion, and Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar collectively contributing $48 billion.
