Family Development Foundation launches new community initiatives in Al Ain

The Family Development Foundation (FDF) of Abu Dhabi emirate in the UAE has launched a series of community forums, programmes, and cultural events with the Jebel Hafeet Community Centre in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, as part of the Foundation’s community development outreach.

The new initiatives seek to support all members of society in Abu Dhabi emirate, especially families, children, women, and senior citizens.

Mariam Mohamed Al-Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation, said: “His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, recently unveiled the Jebel Hafeet Community Centre, which offers comprehensive family services to support the community’s needs.

“It also focuses on understanding societal demands that improve the quality of family lives in a setting that effectively combines recreation and education.”

Community engagement

The Jebel Hafeet Community Centre has been organising workshops and events in partnership with Barakat Al Dar Club for senior citizens, providing them with social engagement and psychosocial, cultural, and health support.

In addition to the FDF’s efforts to promote their integration into society, Barakat Al Dar Club also hosts workshops to assist elderly citizens in using modern technologies.

The Jebel Hafeet Community Centre also coordinates Al Dar Children and Youth Club’s events to enhance the younger generation’s abilities in self-management, social adaptation, tolerance, relationship building, positive communication, and more.

The Al Dar Children and Youth Club also hosts programmes related to developing children and their social skills, such as anger management, stress management, conflict resolution, and effective communication.

In addition, the Jebel Hafeet Community Centre operates a social empowerment club for women and families, whose mission is to build social skills in daily life, encourage positive thought patterns, and adapt to evolving living conditions to improve quality of life.
