Confindustria Alberghi, the Italian Hotels Association of Confindustria

The General Assembly of Confindustria Alberghi was held today at Villa Lubin, the headquarters of the National Council of Economy and Labor (CNEL).

This significant event marked the transition of leadership from outgoing President Maria Carmela Colaiacovo to the newly elected President Elisabetta Fabri.

“Assuming the presidency of Confindustria Alberghi is a great honor and a responsibility that I accept with enthusiasm” declared Elisabetta Fabri, the new president of Confindustria Alberghi “I firmly believe that the hospitality sector is a strategic pillar for our country, a sector capable of representing the best of Italy in the world through excellence, innovation, and sustainability. I am committed to working in synergy with all members of the association to address the challenges ahead and build a future of shared growth, where tourism can continue to be an engine of economic and cultural development.”

The election of Elisabetta Fabri to lead Confindustria Alberghi marks the beginning of a mandate full of challenges and opportunities. Among the priorities is the recognition of the crucial role that the hotel sector, and more generally tourism, plays in the Italian economy, both in terms of value generation and job creation. This objective requires a shared vision and a greater awareness among operators of the strategic importance of the hospitality industry as an engine of economic, social, and cultural development.

The new and constantly evolving market context places key issues at the center, such as the evolution of tourist profiles, tourism seasonality reduction, sustainable management of flows, and the adoption of ESG models. Added to this is the impact of new technologies, with particular attention to the growing role of artificial intelligence in redefining the dynamics and strategies of the sector.

In this scenario, Confindustria Alberghi is called to consolidate its role, strengthening its authority and recognition among stakeholders and its ability to influence industry policies, acting as a spokesperson for operators who daily face a market full of opportunities but undergoing profound change.

It is essential to promote participation and sharing among operators by enhancing all those elements that characterize associative life, the appeal to be part of a cohesive group in which to identify. A qualitative and value-based sharing and the awareness of a collective responsibility.

Furthermore, closer coordination with other components of the national economy is necessary, in the awareness that the identity and excellence of our Made in Italy are a winning weapon in the context of international competitiveness.

With President Elisabetta Fabri, the team of Vice Presidents has also been appointed: Antonio Zacchera, Deputy Vice President, and Massimo Caputi, Giancarlo Carriero, Nicola Vladimiro Ciccarelli, Maria Carmela Colaiacovo, Marco Gilardi, and Sofia Gioia Vedani.

The first 8 members of the Executive Committee for the 2024/2026 biennium have also been elected.
