Delta Unveils A350 Aircraft Team USA Livery
Carrier Is Official Airline Of Team USA
Delta Air Lines unveiled a one-of-a-kind custom Airbus A350 Team USA livery in Toulouse, France, on May 2.
The unique design, a testament to Delta’s role as the official airline of Team USA, commemorates the airline’s eight-year partnership with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, set to continue through the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The unveiling ceremony at Airbus’ global headquarters, where the A350 plane was meticulously crafted and painted, marked a significant milestone in Delta’s steadfast support for Team USA.
Delta’s Chief Marketing Officer Alicia Tillman expressed the airline’s pride in the collaboration, emphasising Delta and Team USA’s shared hard work and dedication values.
Delta’s VP of Global Communications, Gina Laughlin, said: “Team USA athletes are resilient and perseverant – much like Delta’s own people who work each day behind the scenes to connect the world.
“Celebrating this moment alongside our 2023 Chairman’s Club Honorees is only fitting as Delta’s people and Team USA work diligently each day to bring their best to their work. No one better understands what it means to keep climbing to the top.”
Chairman’s Club
The event was made even more significant by the presence of Delta’s Chairman’s Club, a select group of the airline’s top 100 employees chosen through peer nomination.
This esteemed audience, including the 2023 Chairman’s Club honourees, played a crucial role in the unveiling, highlighting the shared resilience of Team USA athletes and Delta’s dedicated workforce.
Following the ceremony, the Chairman’s Club honourees embarked on a journey back to Delta’s hub in Atlanta aboard the newly christened Team USA aircraft. This gesture is a token of appreciation for their commitment to Delta’s mission and values.
The meticulously crafted livery, designed over several months by Alessandra Rabellino and Delta’s internal brand design team, Window Seat, features vibrant red, white, and blue colours adorned with the inscription ‘Team USA.’
Design Elements
The design incorporates elements from the Team USA livery for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 while integrating symbols representing the forthcoming Paris Games and beyond, exemplifying the enduring partnership between Delta and Team USA.
Delta’s commitment to Team USA goes beyond aviation. The airline proudly announced partnerships with 15 Team USA athlete ambassadors for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
These ambassadors, including esteemed Olympians and Paralympians like Allyson Felix and Brad Snyder, will stand alongside Delta in supporting the Games and inspiring audiences with their incredible stories of resilience and perseverance.
As the official airline of Team USA, Delta will manage travel for all US Olympic and Paralympic athletes to various Games, including Paris 2024, Milan 2026, and Los Angeles 2028.
This solidifies Delta’s longstanding commitment to fostering excellence in sports and connecting people and cultures worldwide.
