Dubai RTA wins 13 awards in the first half of 2023

Authority has won 292 local, regional, and global awards since 2008

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has won 13 local, regional, and international awards during the first half of 2023.

This brings Dubai RTA’s cumulative awards from 2008 to the first half of this year to 292 honours, comprising 45 local (UAE), 113 regional (Middle East), and 134 international awards.

Fatima Al Mandous, Director of Innovation and Leadership, Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector, Dubai RTA, said: “These achievements highlight the magnitude of RTA’s initiatives aimed at realising strategic goals in becoming a pioneer in sustainability and digital transformation.

“The ultimate goal is to become centred on mobility data and foster proactive services tailored to the needs of both customers and employees.”

Dubai RTA won two global awards: the 2023 Global Safety Award presented by the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents, a UK-based establishment founded in 1916, and the Customer Centricity World Series.

UAE awards

The collection of awards won in the UAE includes two accolades under the GovTech Innovation Award 2023.

Again, in the UAE, Dubai RTA won the digital transformation category for its call centre and bagged the Smart City Initiative of the Year award for the Expo 2020 Dubai project for managing multimedia events.

The Authority also won an award in the UAE under the Automating Government Transactions category for the Vehicle Purchase and Sale service through its Dubai Drive app, which was awarded at the third edition of the UAE Innovates Award, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation.

Set up in November 2005, Dubai RTA plans, develops, and operates all mass transit systems in Dubai emirate, including buses, taxis, metro, tram, and marine modes, as well as public parking facilities.

The Authority also enacts and implements legislation and strategic plans while developing and maintaining public roads, road traffic, rail, and marine projects across Dubai emirate.
