Dubai’s Arena Group Acquires UK’s Showblock
Focus Is On Sustainable Event Solutions
Dubai-headquartered Arena Group, a leader in the global event services industry, has completed its acquisition of Showblock, a specialist in sustainable temporary structures based in Warwickshire, UK.
The acquisition of Showblock is a pivotal step in Arena Group’s ambitious expansion strategy following its recent Aztec Shaffer and Stadium Solutions acquisitions. This strategic move not only bolsters Arena Group’s position as a global powerhouse but also underscores its commitment to providing cutting-edge, sustainable event solutions.
Showblock, renowned for its innovative designs, manufactures temporary architectural structures for various applications. These structures, known for their sustainability and versatility, are used in events, brand activations, exhibitions, and mixed retail and commercial applications.
Under the continued leadership of Nick Cole, Founder and Managing Director, Showblock will maintain its operations with its existing team. Importantly, its partnership with Maestra, a key player in the Middle East, will remain intact, ensuring the seamless deployment of structures within the region.
Paul Berger, CEO of Arena Group, said: “We are delighted to have acquired Showblock—a company whose innovation and experience will introduce an exciting new dimension to our offerings. This strategic deal allows us to further penetrate the growing global market for event structures.”
Nick Cole shared his vision for the post-acquisition: “Joining Arena Group opens a new chapter for us, enhancing our ability to support industry professionals on a larger scale. We are excited to bring our innovative solutions to even more projects worldwide.”
Showblock’s environmentally friendly structures have been featured at global events such as COP28 UAE, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Chelsea Flower Show, and the Diriyah ePrix in Saudi Arabia.
Official Sponsor Of UAE Challenge Tour Swing
Separately, Arena Group has solidified its presence in the golfing world by signing a three-year sponsorship deal with two tournaments on the Challenge Tour’s UAE Swing – the UAE and the Abu Dhabi Challenge.
The agreement, extending until the 2025 season, grants Arena Group on-course branding, visibility across Challenge Tour digital platforms, and access to Pro-Am events at both tournaments.
This move underscores Arena’s commitment to golf, where it provides event infrastructure for major tournaments. The company’s partnership portfolio includes professional players such as Ryan Fox of the DP World Tour, Curtis Knipes of the 2022 Seve Ballesteros Award, and Harang Lee.
Berger stated: “Golf has been a core aspect of Arena’s operations, and we are thrilled to enhance our involvement by partnering with the Challenge Tour. Supporting the next generation of professional golfers aligns with our ethos, and we look forward to nurturing these future stars.”
Berger highlighted Arena’s dedication to the sport, citing the recent signing of Ryan Fox as a global golf ambassador and ongoing sponsorships of professionals Harang Lee and Curtis Knipes.
“At Arena, we remain steadfast in our support for the golf industry, its tournaments, and players as the sport continues to thrive worldwide,” Berger added.
Arena Group operates offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and South Korea.
