Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit 2024 Begins In Abu Dhabi

Event Comprises An Exhibition And A Conference

The Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS 2024) opened in Abu Dhabi on May 20, 2024, under the UAE’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure auspices.

The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre event signifies a significant stride in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s push towards sustainable transportation.

Sharif Al Olama, the UAE’s Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, presided over the inauguration ceremony.

In his inaugural address, Al Olama emphasised the global impact of EVIS 2024, underlining the UAE’s commitment to building an environmentally sustainable transport network. He noted: “This event is not just about Abu Dhabi or the MENA region, but about the world coming together for a common cause.”

Al Olama stressed the urgency of the decarbonisation initiative, stating that it is crucial to realise collective aspirations. He added that this is not a distant goal but an urgent call to action that requires everyone’s participation.

EVIS 2024 comprises two distinct segments – exhibition and conference. The exhibition component features EV manufacturers and distributors, government bodies, municipalities, public transport operators, fleet owners and integrated energy firms, R&D centres and environmental agencies, banking and investment entities, and universities.

The event’s Tech Park showcases the latest e-mobility innovations presented by universities, technology incubators, and startups, including various projects and prototypes that aim to contribute to the evolving world of sustainable mobility.

A key feature of EVIS 2024 is the E-Vehicle Show, which features the most unique EVs, ranging from concept to market-leading brands.

The conference element of EVIS 2024 is a rich tapestry of insights and trends led by renowned EV industry leaders. It also features daily keynotes by leading sustainable mobility experts from the UAE, the MEA region, and the rest of the world. It covers various topics, from significant EV market disruptors to future trends steering the EV space.

This ensures that there is something for everyone in the audience, regardless of their specific interests or expertise.
