Emirates Environmental Group reaches Umm Al Quwain
Under the esteemed patronage of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) proudly initiated the 22nd cycle of its annual nationwide “Clean UAE” campaignon 5th December. The third leg of the event unfolded in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain on December 9th.
Scheduled to traverse all Emirates, the campaign aims to engage all sectors of the society and foster a collective commitment to environmental stewardship. The upcoming dates for the campaign are as follows:
12th December – Abu Dhabi
13th December – Ras Al Khaimah
14th December – Ajman
16th December – Dubai (Conclusion of the Clean UAE Campaign)
In Umm Al Quwain, the campaign witnessed an impressive turnout of 621 participants from diverse sectors, including private companies, schools, families, and voluntary groups. Together, they meticulously collected 4,900 kg of waste across a sprawling 3 km² area, showcasing a strong dedication to environmental sustainability.
Mrs. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, Co-Founder, and Chairperson of the Emirates Environmental Group, expressed her gratitude, emphasising the power of collective action. “The Clean UAE Campaign is a testament to the unity of our society for a common cause – the preservation of our environment,” she stated. Highlighting its inclusive nature, Mrs. Al Mar’ashi noted the participation of individuals, families, private organisations, academia, and other stakeholders. She added, “Programmes like Clean UAE unite people from all walks of life to establish sustainable environmental goals within the country and demonstrate to the world how challenges can be overcome through unified efforts.”
Mrs. Al Mar’ashi extended heartfelt thanks to campaign supporters, with special appreciation for Main Sponsor McDonald’s UAE and esteemed Co-Sponsors Abu Dhabi Terminals, Dubai Investments, Farnek, and Gulf International Bank. The Clean UAE Campaign aligns seamlessly with global sustainability goals, especially during the Year of Sustainability. As the UAE is hosting COP28, EEG reiterates its commitment to environmental responsibility, contributing to global solutions for climate change and sustainable development.
