Emirates Female Cabin Crew Can Now Choose Their Footwear

In a move towards individualised comfort and style, female Emirates cabin crew members are now empowered to select their footwear from 15 shoe styles.
Crafted in Spain using 100% leather, the expansive range of shoes caters to various preferences in height, width, shape, and style, ensuring optimal comfort and fit for every foot.
The airline says it understands the importance of its female cabin crew’s comfort during long-haul flights, and these shoes are designed with that in mind. The latest iteration of female shoes, accompanied by matching leather handbags, boasts a vibrant red hue, complementing the Emirates uniform’s pleated skirt and trim.
The vibrant red pays homage to Emirates Airline’s inaugural days in 1985 when the cabin crew adorned red shoes—a tradition that returned after a brief stint with brown footwear. Female crew members now receive two pairs of red leather shoes annually: flat cabin shoes and a choice between medium or high heels, while male crew members receive new leather shoes every nine months.
The Emirates cabin crew uniform, which has seen numerous transformations over the years, was last redesigned on July 28, 2008, during the ceremonial presentation of Emirates’ first A380 aircraft at the Airbus factory in Hamburg, Germany.
Developed by Emirates’ in-house team in collaboration with Simon Jersey, a prominent UK uniform manufacturer, the design embodies the warm sand tones of desert dunes. The iconic red hat features a gold pin bearing the Emirates logo. Gold adorns the uniform, symbolising Dubai’s essence and reflecting the airline’s prestigious heritage.
Comfort, durability, and adaptability are paramount considerations in Emirates’ uniform design, ensuring impeccable appearance even after long-haul flights across diverse climates.
Female cabin crew members receive a scrunchie in the signature red shade to complement the uniform for elegant hair up-styles. Meanwhile, the male and female crew adhere to a signature makeup look synonymous with the Emirates brand.
In a testament to its commitment to cabin crew well-being, Emirates launched ‘The Emirates Beauty Hub’ in Dubai, offering personalised appointments and group events covering makeup, nutrition, fitness, skincare, and haircare tips.
