Emirates’ retrofitted Boeing 777s set for Zurich and Riyadh
Aircraft have upgraded cabin configurations
Emirates is deploying its retrofitted Boeing 777 passenger aircraft from its Dubai hub to Zurich and Riyadh starting October 1, 2024.
The move is part of the airline’s initiative to enhance passenger experience with upgraded cabin configurations. The newly retrofitted Boeing 777s will feature Premium Economy and freshly designed Business Class products. So far, 25 aircraft have been retrofitted, with 17 more to receive upgrades by December.
The retrofitted B777s are being deployed on flights EK 85 and EK 86 to Zurich and EK 819 and EK 820 to Riyadh, marking the debut of Emirates’ Premium Economy in the Middle East/GCC region.
Zurich and Riyadh will join Geneva and Brussels, becoming the first cities in the Emirates’ network to offer these updated cabins on all flights. Geneva will see the retrofitted B777 on flights EK 89 and EK 90 starting September 22, 2024. Brussels will welcome its second retrofitted B777 on flights EK 181 and EK 182 from October 9, 2024, operating six times a week.
The Boeing 777’s new four-class configuration includes eight First Class suites, 38 Business Class seats in a four-abreast layout, 24 Premium Economy seats arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration, and 260 Economy Class seats.
In Business Class, passengers will experience a 180-degree fully reclined flatbed, enhanced privacy by removing the middle seat, a personal mini-bar, and a wooden dining table. The new seats have multiple charging outlets and refined seat controls, all contributing to elevated comfort and convenience.
Premium Economy passengers will get 19.5-inch-wide cream leather seats with a 38-inch pitch, an 8-inch recline, and a calf and footrest. The enhanced dining experience includes elements inspired by Business Class, such as welcome drinks, gourmet dishes, and fine tableware.
With the addition of the retrofitted B777s, Emirates plans to serve 28 cities with Premium Economy by the end of 2024.
