Ferrari unveils 2025 livery of 499P numbers 50 and 51

These cars embody Ferrari’s legacy

Ferrari has officially unveiled the 2025 livery of its 499P Le Mans Hypercars ahead of the upcoming FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season. This marks Ferrari’s third season in the WEC’s top class, with the iconic number 50 and 51 cars continuing under the Ferrari—AF Corse banner.

These cars embody Ferrari’s legacy, prestige, and triumphs while honouring the brand’s motorsport history, mainly through the design inspiration drawn from the legendary 312 PB.

The Ferrari 499P, which will compete in the 2025 WEC season, is piloted by unchanged driver line-ups. The number 50 car will again be driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen. At the same time, Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi will continue their work in the number 51. These six drivers are tasked with defending Ferrari’s title at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and challenging for the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ World Championships in 2025.

Ferrari’s design team has maintained continuity while introducing key elements that make the 499P instantly recognisable. The iconic Ferrari red remains at the core of the livery, with Giallo Modena highlights—two colours synonymous with Ferrari’s success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This new design combines a darker red shade, reflecting Ferrari’s historic race cars, with the yellow, accentuating the car’s bodywork and enhancing its dynamic presence on the track. The glossy red finish, which optimises high visibility, is complemented by matte accents that draw inspiration from the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team.

One of the most notable visual updates for the 2025 livery is the signature yellow diagonal stripe on the cockpit, now extending across the side pods instead of the lower sections of the car. This design choice enhances the car’s visual impact, particularly when viewed from above, offering fans a new and striking perspective. This evolution of the 499P’s design celebrates Ferrari’s rich racing history and takes inspiration from the iconic 312 PB, Ferrari’s last Sport Prototype from 1973.

On the technical front, the 499P will retain the same configuration introduced during the second half of the 2024 season. The car is equipped with Ferrari’s hybrid powertrain, which combines a twin-turbo V6 internal combustion engine with an electric unit on the front axle, adhering to the regulations set for the WEC’s top class. Notably, the powertrain is derived from Ferrari’s V6 engines, sharing similarities with the engine found in their latest supercar, the Ferrari F80.

With the start of the season just around the corner, Ferrari’s team has worked relentlessly over the winter to fine-tune every aspect of the car’s performance. The winter development programme focused on optimising the car’s aerodynamics, improving reliability, and enhancing team operations. This comprehensive approach sets Ferrari up as a strong contender as the championship begins in Qatar on 28 February 2025.

Ferrari’s 2025 goals are clear: after finishing third in the 2024 Manufacturers’ World Championship, the Prancing Horse is focused on mounting a serious challenge for both the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ titles, with an eye on returning to the top of the podium at Le Mans. With a line-up of experienced drivers and a continued commitment to refinement, Ferrari is poised for a competitive season ahead.

The 2025 FIA WEC season will kick off with the Qatar 1812 km race on 28 February, with subsequent rounds in Imola, Spa-Francorchamps, Le Mans, São Paulo, and other international circuits. Ferrari’s commitment to consistency, performance, and development throughout the season will be pivotal in pursuing the World Championship titles.
