Ford Middle East posts 63% surge in sales for 2023
UAE leads regional growth with a 57% increase
Ford Middle East is celebrating a stellar year of sales in 2023, marking a remarkable 63% rise across the Middle East region over the previous year.
This achievement is attributed to the exceptional performance of key vehicles, including the Ford Territory, Ford Taurus, Ford F-150, and Ford Explorer.
The UAE played a pivotal role in Ford’s regional success story, recording an impressive 57% year-on-year increase in sales.
This figure is more than double the industry’s average growth of 26% in this market.
Notably, the standout success of 2023 was fuelled by Ford’s remarkable growth in the highly competitive small SUV segment, with the Ford Territory emerging as the second best-selling vehicle in the Middle East in its first year of sale.
Record growth in Saudi Arabia
In addition to the UAE, Ford Middle East achieved record growth in Saudi Arabia, where retail figures surged by an impressive 77% over 2022.
Ravi Ravichandran, President of Ford Middle East, stressed: “In many ways, 2023 was a milestone year for Ford in the Middle East.
“This is not the result of one year, but the efforts made over two; we developed a strong strategy for our product offerings, working hand in glove with our distributor partners and taking care of our team, all contributing to our record sales across the region.”
Ravichandran emphasised the company’s commitment to the region and the success witnessed in 2023.
He highlighted Ford’s initiatives, including supporting distributor partners with visits to Ford plants, hosting regular conferences, and strengthening customer relationships through initiatives like the Ford Guest Experience.
Ford Middle East has ambitious plans for 2024, building on the previous year’s success.
Ford Guest Experience
The company aims to drive sales and parts revenue growth further while focusing on the continued rollout of the Ford Guest Experience to redefine service standards in collaboration with distributor partners.
A significant development in enhancing customer service is the partnership with DB Schenker to construct a new parts distribution centre (PDC) in the logistics district of Dubai World Central.
The 42,000-sq-m facility is set to be fully operational by January 2025, streamlining storage and distribution operations to optimise inventory management and elevate the overall customer service experience.
Looking ahead, Ravichandran outlined Ford Middle East’s vision for 2024, focusing on the core refreshed product portfolio, preparations for introducing electric vehicles in 2025, and flawless launches of key models.
He expressed gratitude to distributor partner Al Tayer Motors for their contribution to the success of 2023 and anticipated even more significant achievements in 2024.
