GITEX Global 2024 unveils new features and highlights
From October 14-18 in Dubai
GITEX Global 2024, the world’s largest tech and start-up event, will showcase various new programmes, high-profile speakers, and cutting-edge advancements.
The 44th edition of the event, scheduled for October 14-18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, promises to be a landmark edition.
Dubai’s goal of becoming the home to 30 start-up unicorns by 2030 is reflected in GITEX Global 2024, which introduces GITEX Editions. This initiative fosters strategic growth and global governance for emerging high-growth companies.
Eight prominent start-ups from eight countries are among the early confirmed speakers, three of which received backing from the European Innovation Council.
Notable speakers include:
- Fabrizio del Maffeo is the Co-founder and CEO of Axelera AI (Netherlands), valued at $500 million and aims to be Europe’s NVIDIA.
- Dr Alexander Zhavoronkov is the Founder and CEO of InSilico Medicine (Hong Kong), renowned for its fastest-ever IPO and groundbreaking advancements in AI-driven drug discovery.
- Dr Mazen Rizk is the Founder and CEO of Infinite Roots (Germany), a leader in sustainable alternative proteins with the EU’s most significant investment in mycelium biotech.
- Dr Joseph Fitzsimons is the Founder and CEO of Horizon Quantum Computing (Singapore), Singapore’s leading quantum startup.
- Dr Sunghyun Park is the Founder and CEO of Rebellions (South Korea), poised to become Korea’s first AI semiconductor chip unicorn.
- Svilen Rangelov is the Co-Founder and CEO of Dronamics (UK), the world’s first cargo drone airline.
- Emilio Scervo is the CTO and Board Member at Bugatti-Rimac (Croatia), which is known for producing the world’s fastest hypercars.
- Philippe Notton is the Founder and CEO of SiPearl (France), which focuses on high-performance semiconductors for AI and supercomputing.
Cybersecurity spotlight
This year’s cybersecurity conference at GITEX Global 2024 will feature live hacks, real-world stories, and intense CISO debates.
Chenxi Wang, Managing General Partner at Rain Capital (US), and Ekaterina Serban, Vice President of Privacy and Information Security at Bosch (Germany), will join leading cybersecurity experts. Wang, a top international cyber investor, will discuss the rising global interest in advanced security solutions. Serban will participate in discussions on corporate strategies for the adoption of cybersecurity.
New industry experts
GITEX Global 2024 will also feature Michael Spranger, President of Sony AI, who will present Sony’s latest R&D projects. Chris Duffey, Futurist & Head of GenStudio at Adobe (USA), will share insights from his co-authored book on AI. Additionally, Isabell Gradert, VP of Central Research & Technology for Airbus (Germany), will make her first regional appearance.
Tech Destination Pakistan
Tech Destination Pakistan, represented by the Pakistan Software Export Board, has been named the 2024 event’s ‘Tech Destination of the Year.’
Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Pakistan’s Minister of IT & Telecommunication, expressed enthusiasm for showcasing Pakistan’s technological talent and potential at GITEX Global 2024.
Dubai World Trade Centre is organising GITEX Global 2024. Last year’s event saw a turnout of 6,000 exhibitors and 187,000 attendees from over 180 countries, showcasing the convergence of top innovators, forward-thinking government leaders, and visionary enterprises and start-ups.
Hailed globally as the best tech show, GITEX Global 2024 will be supported by GITEX Europe Berlin, GITEX Asia Singapore, and GITEX Nigeria in 2025, alongside the expansion of GITEX Africa Morocco. This expansion underscores GITEX Global’s role as a crucial platform for shaping and driving the digital agendas of the future.
