Hytera reaffirms commitment to customer-centric solutions for the Middle East

In an exclusive interview at GITEX Global 2024, Yasar Arafat, Regional Sales Manager of Hytera Communications – a leading global provider of professional communications technologies and solutions – shared insights into the company’s latest innovations and strategic focus in the Middle East. He highlighted Hytera’s commitment to customer-centric solutions, particularly in the rapidly evolving AI-driven and 5G communication technologies fields.

At GITEX Global 2024, Hytera launched its highly anticipated P5 Series Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) radios – the SC780 Smart 4G and the SC880 Smart 5G body cameras.

Advancements in communication solutions

Arafat expressed enthusiasm when asked about the major highlights of Hytera’s presence at GITEX Global 2024 – the world’s largest tech and startup event – held at Dubai World Trade Centre from October 14 to 18.

“This year, we are showcasing our latest advancements in AI-driven and 5G communication solutions,” Arafat said. He emphasised that Hytera’s primary focus is on innovations tailored to meet the unique needs of the Middle Eastern market, particularly in sectors such as public safety, transportation, oil and gas, and hospitality.

Arafat stated: “These solutions promise seamless and reliable communication, aligning with the region’s digital transformation efforts.”

Meeting local needs

Regarding how Hytera’s latest offerings cater specifically to the Middle Eastern market, Arafat explained: “The Middle East is experiencing significant infrastructure investments in smart cities and digitalisation. Our solutions are designed to be adaptable, allowing us to meet the diverse requirements of sectors such as public safety and transportation.”

He also highlighted the company’s AI-equipped body cameras and the importance of compliance with local regulations, demonstrating Hytera’s commitment to customisation.

Importance of the Middle East market

Shifting focus to the Middle East’s significance for Hytera, Arafat elaborated: “The region represents a high-growth area for communication technologies. We see a huge demand for cutting-edge solutions driven by ambitious infrastructure projects.”

He noted that the emphasis on security and digital transformation initiatives further solidifies the Middle East’s role as a vital market for Hytera’s strategic expansion.

Observing market changes

Reflecting on changes in the regional market since last year’s GITEX, Arafat observed a notable shift toward integrating AI across various sectors.

He noted: “The emphasis on smart technologies and 5G connectivity has intensified. We are seeing a greater demand for products that function effectively and incorporate intelligent features, such as real-time data analytics and automated response systems.”

He affirmed that Hytera is committed to staying at the forefront of these technological advancements.

Customer preference for Hytera

Discussing why regional customers favour Hytera over other brands, Arafat noted the company’s ability to deliver tailored solutions that address specific challenges.

“We prioritise local support, offering robust after-sales service that resonates well with Middle Eastern clients,” he said.

He also emphasised the importance of customer feedback, stating: “We listen closely to our clients, ensuring that we deliver exactly what they need.”

Challenges in the region

Arafat also addressed some key challenges of operating in the Middle East. He pointed out the complexities of navigating varying regulatory environments across different countries.

“Each region has its requirements and standards, which we must adhere to while ensuring our products remain effective,” he explained.

Moreover, he highlighted the geographical challenges, such as extreme heat, which necessitate designing equipment that can withstand harsh conditions.

Staying ahead in technology

As technology continues to evolve, Arafat was asked how Hytera remains competitive. Arafat responded that continuous innovation is central to their strategy.

“We invest heavily in research and development, allocating over 15% of our revenue towards it,” he said.

This substantial investment allows Hytera to incorporate emerging technologies into its offerings swiftly. “As we transition from 4G to 5G and beyond, we ensure our products meet future demands,” he added.

Regarding Hytera’s plans for expanding its market share in the Middle East, Arafat mentioned a strategy focused on understanding and responding to customer needs.

“We develop products tailored to specific requirements, whether that involves enhancements in audio quality, camera functionalities, or integration with cellular networks,” he noted.

Hytera aims to strengthen its market position in various sectors by actively listening to clients and responding to feedback.

Commitment to regional adaptation

The conversation concluded with a discussion on how Hytera adapts its solutions to the unique environment of the Middle East.

Arafat explained, “Our solutions are not only technologically advanced but also designed with the regional context in mind.”

He provided examples of how high temperatures are considered in product development, ensuring communication devices operate efficiently under such conditions. “Our DMR and Tetra systems are customised to meet the specific operational requirements of our clients, which is critical for success in this market,” he emphasised.
